Joseph Jonathan Philip. According to Sam's dreams and Deja vu, Joe should've been a tall fair guy, with a combination of muscle with smartness. He was expected to be a guy who had great physique but could still solve Rubik's cubes blindfolded. He should've been a person who wore good colognes and fashion, with a strong taste of people and colors. He should've been more veiny and bulky at his shoulders and arms, but also should've maintained a six-pack abdomen. He should've had a great hairstyle and beard - like a normal man should- but here he was! The boy with none of the above characteristics. He wore spectacles, twice as big as Harry Potter; stupid nose that even Voldemort would be ashamed of; a stupid middle-partitioned haircut which nobody tried since late 60's; and last but not the least, a very odorless taste of fashion. He wore baggy outfit which made him look way too skinnier than he actually is. He had very thin arms and legs where baggy clothing did not fit well. He sometimes wore his dad's shirts which were of course so unfit for him that any random person can find it out too easy from a long distance.
There was surely not a single strong reason to prove that Joe was the one for Samantha. Only one thing that kept her going was the eye color. The dark brown eyes that kept her going deeper in her dreams were the reason why she was still thinking about Joe in real world.
Her best friend Amy kept reminding her about her dream. Whenever Sam tried to pull away the topic, Amy reminded her that that the guy in her dream called himself Joseph. That one statement always put Sam in deep thoughts.
Sam was indeed a cheerful and happy-go-lucky girl. She was very talented and hard working. She was mostly engaged in outdoor activities. She was also a cheerleader in her school's football team. She loved football and was a very good dancer.
Directly on the opposite end of the stick was Joe. No personal interest in outdoor activities, neither did he play any game pretty well. All he did all day was playing some stupid games on the computer all day and do some boring programming. He was a complete nerd. An introvert in true sense. He did not listen to music at all. All he did was watched anime and kept talking about it the whole day with his other nerd friends.
His friends were exactly the same as he was. There was a guy named Jim, another friend of Joe. He was a complete stupid. He was a brainy kid, but all he had was his skill and intelligence. He wasn't smart at all. He behaved like a fool every where he went with his dear friend Joe. Both of them bunked lectures and studied in the library but still struggled to have an A grade.
Sam did not know much about him, but one thing was for sure. There had been some event in his life that has made him so light and freaky.
He once told his best friend Jim about his mother and father breaking up. He also described how cruelly his father killed his mother in front of little Joe's eyes. That was too dark for him to see. It was difficult for anybody to imagine how his life without his parents would've been for him.
According to Samantha, Joseph was the dumbest and most frightened creature on earth. But only a few know what he has really been through.
He might not have become bulkier or veiny like the other big guys at school; he might not be very tall like the others; he might not be a good sportsman, but all that he has gone through has made him a man with a strong heart.
He surely is a bit talkative or childish, but the pure heart that he possesses has been seen by no one. Sam just kept judging him by his behavior and outer appearances, but Sam never tried to look at him from his own point of view.
The question arises, why didn't Joe tell her everything about him? Why isn't he speaking up? It is just because he doesn't want anybody's sympathy towards him. That's the only reason why Joe does not open up in front of anybody else.
That's deeper than the deepest and darkest part of the ocean so deep!
