"Kind attention dear students of Central High School. Coming weekends are reserved for the interschool football finale held at L.A's biggest football field, The SoFi Stadium. This year again our school has made it to the finale and we want another golden trophy like the won we've been winning since the last 3 years. There are a lot of expectations from the new team recruitment and also our captain Mr. Mackintosh Brown. We are sure that his team will surely bring us the Trophy and make our school proud again. All the very best to Mr. Mackintosh and his team."
The Principal Mr. Winsley announced about the Football Finale. Cheers echoed in the corridors and classrooms. Mack was surely gonna bring the trophy to the school. He was pretty confident with that. He and his team started cheering themselves out in the corridors.
Mr. Winsley then sent their security guards in the corridors to clear the area. He then assured Mack that the school trusted him and would always stand for him. Mack broadened with pride and walked back to his classroom. He sat on his chair, proudly waiting for other students to come and see him.
Sam was sitting right in front of him. She heard other students praising him but still did not turn around.
"Hey," Mack asked Sam, "Do you think we'll win it?"
"Win what?" asked Sam in astonishment.
"The match. Our football finale. Didn't you hear a thing what Mr. Winsley said?" Mack asked in surprise.
"Yeah. I guess I didn't."
"Yeah the Principal's voice is old and dusty. It's difficult for me to hear too. By the way, would you like to come with me to watch me play? We'll have fun together."
"Um. Actually, I don't love sports so much. So maybe I won't come."
"You don't like sports? Well I guess you were in the school's cheerleading group."
"Oh. So you know me really well."
"Yeah. I've seen you in that costume. It kinda suits you."
"Thank you."
"So, Saturday?"
"You're coming to the match. And yeah, don't forget to bring that costume of yours."
"Hehe sure. I'll try." Sam said hesitatingly. Mack leaves and all other girls reach Samantha.
"What did he say to you?" one of them asked.
"He actually asked me to be with him for his match to cheer him." Sam replied.
"Oh how lucky of yours. I've been trying to date Mack but he's always unavailable. Sam, I'm jealous."
"Excuse me ladies," Amy rushes in and grabs Samantha and pulls her, "Actually, Sam and I got work to do."
Both of them rush out of their classes. They start talking.
"So," Amy asked, "What did that bully jerk ask you?"
"He was trying to ask me out to watch his match and cheer for him in the match with my old cheerleader costume."
"Well Sam, don't listen to him. He's just a bully."
"Well," replied Sam, "I don't think he's so bad. He talked nicely to me. He might be misunderstood by us.
"Sam, have you forgotten about Joe?"
"Joe is none of my business. I don't like him. And it was never my fate. Maybe, it's just coincidence. That dream, the red shirt, the eyes, maybe all of it was just a coincidence."
"Samantha, listen to me once. There is no coincidence" Fate is the reason behind almost everything that happens in our life. You might not believe me but Sam, this time, you gotta trust me."
"Amanda, I know you believe in all these things but here, in my life, it makes no sense. I cannot date they who makes me embarrassed every time I talk to him. Why would I even make friends with this guy. He's such a nerd. I don't like him at all. Why don't you understand."
"Okay Sam, I think you need to relax and realize what you're saying."
"No Amy, I think you need to understand me. I can't date that nerd. I hate him so much. Just understand me. Mack is a good looking and sporty guy who shows his interest in me. I think I am doing the right thing."
"Well," Amy cooled down, "If you think you're doing the right thing. I won't stop you. Just be safe from that guy. And yeah, take care. Enjoy."
