The next few days were difficult for Sam. She had to move on after everything that happened back there with her. She became restless. She not only made the wrong decision but also hurt the one who loved her. Amy forgave her, but what about Joe? Will he ever forgive her? Will Sam be able to forgive herself after all this? She wasted all her time and money running behind that imperfect guy who hurt her at the end of the day.
She took a leave from school for a few days just to get this all out of her mind and move on. She gave herself some time and she improved mentally after spending a week in the hills.
The next day, she gets teased and taunted as she enters school premises. She turns around and finds almost everybody looking at her and laughing and gossiping.
"What on earth are they laughing at?" Amy wondered.
"It's probably, me." Sam realized as she saw Mack forwarding stupid jokes and hoax about her.
"I'm gonna kill this guy for sure!" Amy said as she rushed towards him.
"Hey, little asshole! Why the hell are you trying to spread fake news about my friend who kicked your ass last week?"
"Fake news huh? Didn't she do it that day?" another girl standing near Mack exclaimed.
"Did what huh! You, Mack, you're such a jerk."
"Don't you dare call me that again!" Mack growled.
"What do we call a punk who tries to insult a girl with fake news? We call that creature, A Jerk!" Amy argued.
Girls started gathering around Amy as she argued. Sam rushed into the crowd just in front of Mackintosh. He was so furious that he raised his hands on her. Amy protects her by blocking the attack. The impact of the attack was too much for both to handle. Samantha falls down in the corridors.
"Alright! That's enough everyone!" A strange voice called from behind.
"I've heard of some bully making up fake news about the girls huh!" The voice asked. It came from right behind the girls. They turned back.
They saw eyes, staring at the bully and his friends, with a pure feeling of revenge. He was angry but nobody knew why. His dark eyes were so attractive that almost any girl on earth could fall for him. He was tall enough for Mack to beat. He was muscular but still seemed to be quick and agile. He walked straight towards Mack and talked.
"So, you wanna trouble me and get hit huh?" Mack asked.
"No. I am here to punch you in the face and make you pay for everything wrong you've done." The guy exclaimed.
Mack tried to get hold of his neck. The guy counter attacked and stabbed Mack straight to his nose. Mack growled. The guy combined a few straight punches and jabs and hooks, while Mack flinched every time. This new guy was a tough competitor for Mack. Mack fell back but the guy did not stop. He looked like a tough boxer. As Mack fell back, his friends viz. Alex and Fin tried to pull the other guy back. Alex grabbed him from behind and Fin punched his abdomen. The guy absorbed the punches and then swiftly, threw away Alex and side kicked Fin. Alex and Fin were now on the ground. Mack stood up trying to attack the guy. The guy rushed forward and Mack was hit by a great and swift combination of side and flying kicks. Mack did not get up this time. It was really difficult for him to do so. The other two escaped the corridor. The guy then pulled up Mack and warned him never to trouble Sam, Amanda or any other girl in this school.
"What's going on here in the corridors?" Mrs. Simmons rushed in and saw Mack fallen on the floor.
"Mr. Mackintosh Brown! What are you up to this time?"
"It wasn't me. It was this guy who started it."
"What? He is a new student and this is his first day in school. He doesn't even know you. I know you must have done something."
                              "But Mrs. Simmons....."
"Detention! Detention for Mr. Mackintosh Brown and his friends." Mrs. Simmons said as she left the corridor.
The crowd then reduced and everybody headed back to the classes as the bell rang.
On the other hand, Sam was still sitting in the same position as she fell. She did not get up since the fight started. Her books and notes were on the ground. Amy was in her dreamland. She then came back to reality and realized that Sam was still on the ground.
"Sam, get up." Amy said as she pulled Sam by her arm.
                              "Oh. Yes!"
"Here," The guy said, "Let me help you with your books."
"Thank you. By the way, it wasn't necessary to fight back for me. I mean I could've taken care of Mack."
"Yeah, I saw that. You were going to.. win. Sorry to interrupt your victory."
"Hehe. It's alright. My name's Samantha. You can call me Sam!"
"Samantha! Nice shirt by the way."
                              'ZOOM'
Samantha closed her eyes. The dream just came back in her mind. She was so surprised and astonished and amused. She was confused. Why did this happen again?
'Why did she fall down and somebody with the same dark eyes helped her pick up?
Why did someone smile at her this way?
                              What is this guy's name?
Why did all this happen to her?
Why does he look similar to the one in her dreams?
                              Why has this dream returned?
Was she in deep sleep? Was she hallucinating?
But no, Amy is with her. So, who is he?
Why did he complement her Red shirt?
                              Wait a minute! Red shirt!
She checked the shirt she was wearing. Surprisingly, it was red. Not just red, it was the same shirt she wore in her dreams and also on the first day of school last year. These memories and moments were now coming back to her.
                              She was confused!
"I'm Amy by the way." Amy said, trying hard not to end the conversation.
"Oh. Hey Amy!" The guy said.
"So, you're a combination of Jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, Karate and Taekwondo?" Amy asked.
"Hehe Yeah, I learned all of this a little bit."
                              "Joseph Lawrence" Sam said.
"Sam? You alright?" Amy asked worriedly.
                              "What? Yeah. I'm good!"
"Then why did you say Joseph?"
"I don't know Amy. I am so confused. His name is coming right back to me when I am looking at this guy." Sam said.
"Well. You're on the right track then! I am Joseph Lawrence. That ugly guy who troubled you previously!"
"What? Joe? How is this possible?" Amy asked surprisingly.
"Everything is possible my dear Amy."
"Well. You are Joe. I can see that in your eyes Joe."
"Well. That's right. You know after that incident last Christmas, I decided to take a break and I dropped out of school. I went back to my grandpa's house where he trained me physically and mentally and now I am what you see."
"Oh dear Joe, I am sorry about what happened last year. I insulted you in front of everyone. I really don't have words to say. But, I am really sorry for what I did to you. Forgive me dear man."
"Sam," Joe said. "You don't need to worry about that. I think I've moved on. I am better now. And I know one thing for sure. Whatever you said that day was completely true. It was right. I was a nerd back there and I wasn't confident enough to speak out for myself. Thank you for making me understand. And yeah, thank you for giving me a chance to knock Mack out."
