A Christmas Carol: Harry Potter Style Chapter 2: Present

As soon as Hermione had left the room, she walked down into the next corridor, meeting up with Harry and Ron.

"How long was I?" Hermione asked, removing the spell that made her look truly ghastly-or should I say- ghostly. She handed the timeturner over to Ron.

"About five minutes? You were quick," Harry said, looking up from his watch which Hermione had repaired last night. It was previously waterlogged from the second task. Ron was looking rediculous, dressed in his mould dressrobes. Hermione was grateful that they didn't fight over Viktor taking her to the yule ball.

Hermione placed a spell on Ron, so that he would be able to float through walls. For effect, of course. Ron, still human-like, floated away down the corridor. He promptly disappeared through Snape's door.

Whilst Ron floated away, Hermione pulled out the timeturner she had taken from the department of mysteries. It was a few hours after the yule ball, and Hermione had just modified her original timeturner. The trio then travelled forewards in time, and, horrified, landed in the department of mysteries. Hermione snatched up a timeturner from the clock room and they kept going foreward, seeing glimpses of the future.

It was the 2nd of May, 1998, when Severus Snape was brutally killed by Vodemort. They recorded the amount of turns it would take to get there, and went back to Christmas Eve. For them, they were standing in the past. Their past selves were sitting in the common room.

The plan was that Hermione was to go back to their original timeline with this second timeturner, so as to not strain the ancient magic. Harry and Ron would travel back together. It wasn't good, as the laws of time stated, it wasn't wise for three magical beings to be in the past all at teh same time, within the same distance. When they had travelled to save Buckbeak, Dumbledore had helped them bend the rules, but not this time.

As soon as Ron had floated into Snape's quaters, he began speaking nervously, "Severus Snape." The man is question looked up, and rolled his eyes. Ron heard him mutter, 'what is it with bloody Gryffindors today?'

Ron then recited-as Hermione had told him-

"I am the ghost of 'Christmas Present', and the fates have decided that you need to change your way of life before any tragedies because of your personality and life occur."I look in this form to be familiar to you, I am aware I look like a pure blood student Ron Weasley."

Severus nodded, and Ron took a deep breath, "We will be travelling a few hours into the morning of Chirstmas 1994. PLease put this around your neck."

Ron walked over and passed the timeturner over his neck, handing it to Severus .After they both had it over their heads, and time began to pass around the two.

They appeared in the Gryffindor boys dorm, where Severus still had the cloaking charm on him. Ron must have had it on him also.

Harry awoke very suddenly on Christmas Day. Wondering what had caused his abrupt return to consciousness, he opened his eyes, and saw something with very large, round, green eyes staring back at him in the darkness, so close they were almost nose to nose.

“Dobby!” Harry yelled, scrambling away from the elf so fast he almost fell out of bed. “Don’t do that!”

“Dobby is sorry, sir!” squeaked Dobby anxiously, jumping back- ward with his long fingers over his mouth. “Dobby is only wanting to wish Harry Potter ‘Merry Christmas’ and bring him a present, sir! Harry Potter did say Dobby could come and see him some- times, sir!”
