What lies behind a smile

I finally finish my essay after reviewing it about 4 times making sure I don't have any mistakes. Mr. Dean is a dickhead and will probably still find a way to give me a hard time on this.

I've done a decent amount of work. I know Tony said he's not upset about my grades but I can tell he's a little disappointed. If it weren't for my situation he would probably be pissed at me. But I need to get them up, I wanna give Tony something to be proud of. Even if it's just a stupid grade.

There's a knock on my door and Steve pops his head in. "Hey, queens I'm gonna go to Target and the grocery store. I was wondering if you wanted to come, just get out the house?"  I look at my computer. A break would be nice and I've gotten 5 out of 27 assignments done and 7 and physics and 5 are calculus so I can easily get that done.

"Yeah that would good, I just finished this so that's fine."He smiles "Okay we're gonna head out in like ten minutes."I nod and he closes the door. Tony finally agreed to let me have doors without locks but if I block them I'm getting a curtain.

"sorry, Tess I gotta go," I say taking her off my lap. She's a good puppy she's had one accident and that was my fault she at least went by the door. All she's does is play and cuddle which is perfect for me because I'm lazy.

"I should probably get a jacket too in case it gets too cold."Tessa follows me into the closet and I grab my hoodie and a jacket. I don't care much for my appearance my hair has been a curly mess so gave up with that. On the bright side, I don't look like a walking corpse anymore, my skin is back to normal and my eyes aren't black under. My cheeks are even getting flushed again.

"Peter your coming right?" Wanda asks. I nod "Good hey we're having movie night tonight and you are in charge of the snacks k."

"Okay...what are we watching?"

"Don't know yet we usually spin a wheel and that person will pick."I nod and follow Wanda. I've only talked to her a few times, well I've only really talked to Tony Nat Steve and Bruce. Everyone else is super nice though, Wanda is the closest to my age she is only 19 so I and her are getting along well.  I like her accent.

"Hi, Tessa!"She says picking her up
"Nat can you watch the puppy since the world is so scared of the big scary Pitbulls!" she says kissing Tessa I laugh. "Yeah I'll watch her but she loves Peter the most." I smile at that.

I'm definitely her favorite. And since she lives with the Avengers I take that as a huge flex.

"You gonna go out bud?"Tony asks. Maybe he doesn't want me out I didn't even ask, he probably wants me to stay and do homework.

"If that's okay, sorry I should have asked. I should stay I have gotta watch Tess and do homework. I'm sorry."He grins at me playfully rolling his eyes at my rambling.

"No, it's fine Peter you can go, be nice to get out and spend some time with the team. And you know leave this the building." I nod agreeing.

"Okay, then queen let's go!"Steve calls I nod and follow him out.

The drive is quiet Sam and Steve make small talk while Wanda shows me some of her music.

"Okay so Wanda ill give you the list and you and Peter can go into Target?" She nods taking the list we're gonna be across the street k."

"Sounds good."I nod. The car stops and I follow Wanda out and we go into Target.

The trip was fun us mostly goofing off and Wanda looking for random stuff. I gasp dramatically seeing a huge bag of gummy worms.
"I'm getting these" She laughs at my reaction to gummy worms. A literal addition of mine, Ben would get them for me every Friday after school.
