"So run it by my again. When was the last time you talked to your sister?" I asked Samantha, Leilanee's sister.

She was upset and afraid. Her face was drowsy looking like she hadn't slept in weeks.

"Uh, it was like Tuesday. We went to the spa. S-She was tellig me about some issues she was having with her girlfriend." Sammy's voice was shaky.

She's been crying since she got here. How she found my house, I'll never know but that's beside the point. It's been 4 days since she last seen Leilanee.

"I went by her apartment that night to check up on her but she was gone."

Sydnei started freaking out when Sammy told us the story. I felt a little jealousy build up in my gut but pushed it aside. Business first.

"Girlfriend? What's her name?" I asked.

I made mental notes in my head while Amber sat next to Sammy writing stuff down in her pad. I had called Sophie to help search with us.

"Nico." Sammy broke doen crying. I tensed up when she said the name of a friend of mine.

"So.." I started but there were loud knocks at the door. I gave Sydnei a look and she went to get the door.

"Her and Nico is having problems?" I licked my lips trying to get rid of any assumptions that were trying to consume my mind.

"I don't know if it's like major problems." Sammy explained as Sophie walked in. I nodded and she did the same.

"...they seperatrd and--" I cut her off

"They broke up?"

She shrugged.

"No..yes. I don't know. Look, all I know is my baby sister is missing and some son of a bitch is out there doing God knows what to her!!" Sammy furiously yelled. Why hadn't she come to us sooner then?

"Calm down. Hey, we're gonna find her, okay?" Sydnei sat on the other side of Samantha and embraced her. I could tell Sydnei was upset too.

I gave Amber and Sophie a head nod then went to my office. They walked in and closed the door. I sat on the edge of my desk while Amber and Soph stood against the wall.

"So, what's up?" Sophie answered. I filled her in briefly.

"Leilanee Welds. She's a close friend of my fiancé and she's been missing for a few days now. We gotta find her. Her sister is a wreck as you could see. It's not sitting right with me neither."

Amber shifted and folded her arms.

"So where do we start?" her  facial expression was so serious.

"We're gonna go for a ride." I grabbed my jacket and walked out of the room I called my office.

"Where to?" Sophie asked as we walked outside. It was chilly but I ain't give a fuck.

"We're gonna go visit Nico. I need answers." 

On the ride to the restaurant Nico worked at, I prayed to God she had nothing to do with this sht. And since when was she dating Sydnei's ex? I know I never really got the chance to know Leilanee but I had no problem with her. I could tell she was a good person. Although I really didn't want to lock up my homie (and I was hoping I didnt have to), I didnt play about my job or anyone's safety. Especially not someone I know. So I have to do what I know best. To serve and protect.
