Faith over Fear.

"Bae, where are Kaylyn's baby wipes? I can't find them." I ask Mani.

She's in her own world, looking at some important case she has to figure out. I stand there waiting for an answer. She doesn't budge. Her eyes are glued to the papers sitting across the bed.

I roll my eyes and sigh deeply. "Can you please just stop working for a minute and help me get Kaylyn ready? Sammy is coming to get her."

Kamani finally looks up at me. I shake my head and continue to search for her wipes. She's asleep right now and I'm trying to keep it that way but Kamani is about to make me bitch.

"Alright, alright. Did you check downstairs?" She asks.

"Yes, I went room to room."

Kamani heads back downstairs as if I hadn't said a thing. Bet she won't find em down there. I run back to the bathroom and check again I check all over our room and then in her diaper bag.

I'm rushing because I have an important meeting to get to. Its about my promotion. I really want to prepare and be on time for it! I head towards Kaylyn's room and spot the wipes underneath her crib. UGH!

Mani comes into the room and grab Kay, who has just woke up, out of the crib and I hand her the wipes, kiss both of my babies and rush out of the door. I grab my keys and speed out of the house practically hopping in the car.

I am about 20 minutes away and I have 15 minutes before I am late so I have to push it. I stop at a red light and anxiously tap on the steering wheel. I glance left and right before I turn right trying to avoid wasting any more time.

"MOVE!!!!" I yell and beep my horn at some slow ass driver ahead of me. They cant be driving anymore than 25 miles. I impatiently honk my horn again before speeding past the car.

I check my watch and whine to myself. "No no no... Please God. I cannot be late." I tell myself speeding through traffic. Im a few feet away from the traffic light and it turns yellow. I speed up and before I get to the intersection it turns red but I keep going and I soon come to a very loud halt as another car comes crashing into.

I feel my car flip once and slide into another car and I all I can manage to do is cry out for the Lords help before blacking out unconscious....

I am so ready to get my nails done. I've walking around here looking like God knows what. It is time! I turn my music loud and dance to the music as I sing along.

In the distance I hear ambulance and I slow down and stop by the nearest curb as the ambulance fly past me.

"The fuck..." I say aloud, staring at the truck zoom through traffic. Before I could continue on, two more ambulance trucks sped by. I noticed they were going in the direction of Sydnei's house.

Something swept over me and I followed down the way the ambulance had gone. I drove up three blocks and saw a massive collision. Police and ambulances were everywhere. They had the roads blocked. My heart dropped when I spotted Sydnei's car. I instantly got out and tried to run over to the car but a cop stopped me.

"Excuse me ma'am but we're going to have to ask you to stay back." she says, grabbing me.

"No! Wait, I know her!" I spotted Sydnei laying on the ground and the EMT's were putting a neck brace on her. She was unconscious and I start to cry uncontrollably.

I felt entire body shaking as I reach for my phone in my back pocket. I dial Sammy's number and she doesnt pick up, which pisses me off. I dont have Kamani's number to call her so I yell in frustration.

"Please, you have to let me see if shes okay. Please, she my ex girlfriend. I know her family. My sister should be on her way to her house right now." I plead with the officer but they insisted for me to just follow the ambulance to the hospital.

I cry as I wait for them to pack up and leave. I try Sammy's phone multiple times and I leave a few voicemails. I watch the ambulance take off and I follow them. I park and hurry into the hospital looking frantically for them.

I lie and tell the nurses that I'm Sydnei's sister and they assure me that theyre doing all they can to make sure shes taken care of but they have to rush her to surgery ASAP.

"Oh my God, why??? This isnt real." I sob as I try to look through the doors. I start to shake my hands and rub them against my thighs due to my anxiety.

"Ma'am are you okay?" A nurse comes up to me and holds me giving me a concerned look.

"S-S-Syd.. Sydnei. She's gonna be okay right?" I asked hearing my voice crack.

The nurse does her best to calm me down and ask for emergency contacts. I tel them that shes married and that they should be able to get in contact with Kamani. After a while, the same nurse comes back to check in. They tel me that they've contacted and informed Kamani about everything and that shes on her way.

I sigh with relief and hug the nurse. "Thank you so much. I didnt know what to do."

10 minutes must have passed before I spot Kamani rush in and I stand. Sammy has Kaylyn in her arms and they both are looking worried. Kamani goes to the desk and I run to Sammy and cry in her arms. I kiss Kaylyn who's asleep just so happy to see them.

This cannot be real. Man, Sydnei has to be ok.
