"I miss you." Sydnei said through the phone. I licked my lips and sighed.

"I miss you too."

"So when you coming home to me? I'm sorry about the other dah. You caught me off guard."

I was staying at Sophie's for a while. I needed to get away. I hate arguing with Sydnei. She's literally the love of my life.

"Soon. I'm just trying to clear my head right now, mama." I heard her pout.

"Well can you hurry?" she asked. It made me smile. I could tell she missed me. And truthfully, all I wanted was to hold her right now. Yet at the back of my mind, I'm still questioning her loyalty.

"When I come home, can we talk about this?" I asked. It got quiet and Syd finally answered my question.

"I told you I only want you."

".. I'll talk to you later. Love you." I hung up. Something about her answer made me uneasy. Like she wanted to avoid the conversation.

I sighed heavily and laid back on the couch. I heard Sophie on the phone with somebody.

"Alright, I'll see you in a minute. Ight.. Ight ima ask her but I doubt she'll want to come... Aha, right. Alright. See you soon." she hung up the phone.

I sat up and let Soph sit down next to me.

"Ight bro, look. We about to head out for some drinks. You rolling or nah?" she asked looking at me.

"Where?"

"I don't know, a bar. Don't really feel like being at a club tonight. Plus, I gotta go in early."

"Nah, I need some time-"

"Nah, bro. You been here moping around about Syndei. You k oe you love that girl. I don't think she'd lead you on man. You need to go handle your business."

I shook my head. A part of me knew she was right. But I was still skeptical.

"I will. Sooner or later." I shrugged.

"Well, look. You know you can crash here however long you want. But you going with me tonight so get yo ass up and get ready. I'm tired og seeing yo ass laying around here like somebody done stole your candy." She joked and we both started laughing.

"Man, shutup. You dumb. But nah, for real though. Thanks man." I stood up and hugged Soph.

She was my nigga.

"And did I hear you say we? Who else coming?"

Sophie statted blushing hard and I frowned a little, chuckling. "I invited Leilanee out. And Ientioned you being here and she said you could tag along if you wanted."

I pushed her and started laughing. "Word, nigga that's you now?"

"Nah, man. Atleast not yet, feel me." she laughed.

10;45 pm.

"Man, I'm glad y'all invited me. I'm having a good time." I told Lei and Soph.

They had been all up under each other lowkey and they didn't think I noticed. But I did. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey beautiful." I hugged Sydnei. I knee they were up to something.

"I knew y'all wasn't inviting me just to be a third wheel."

Soph and Lei giggled and went back to mingling. I grabbed Syndei's hand and licked my lips. The liquor was taking over my body making me feel nice.

We walked outside and I turned to Sydnei. "Let's get out of here.." I whispered in her ear. She gave me that look and I knew how this night would end.
