"How you doing?" I ask Leilanee over the phone.

I haven't seen her in a week. I missed her company. She was so beautiful.

"I'm okay. Not as goos as I would like to be, but I'm alive so I am more than grateful." she giggles.

I smirk. "Yeah, I hear that."

"What's up though, what have you been up to? Or should I sag who?"

"What? Girl, I ain't been up to shit. And definitely aint been anything with nobody." I tried to sound hurt but I ended up laughing.

"Mhhhhhmm." she jokes.

"But on the real though, when can I see you again?" I ask. She sighs softly.

"I was hoping you'd say something."

I chuckled. "Oh really? So, you want me to chase you?" I lick my lips. This girl was full of surprises.

"I wouldn't say "chase" but I was hoping you'd go the extra mile to ask me to hang out with you again." she reassures me.

I nod. "Ah, clever girl. Well, when can we hang again?"

"It doesn't matter. I'm free now if it's cool." she said.

"Oh yeah, now is definitely a good time. I'll come scoop you and we'll go somewhere, okay?"

"Okay." I can hear Leilanee smiling through the phone. We hang up and I proceed to the car. It was warm outside for it to be so late. No one on my block was out. Figures. I love in the suburbs.

After 20 minutes, I was pulling up to Leilanee's house. I see Sammy getting out of her car with Syndei. They wave as soon as I get out of the car.

"What you doing here?" Sammy asks.

"Me and Lei about to go hang out." I lick my lips. Sammy smiles and I glance at Sydnei and she looks at me weird.

"Little Kaylyn gon be here any day soon, huh?" I ask Syndei. She grins and rubs her tummy.

"I hope so."

"Get in the house and off your feet. This girl never listens to me." Sammy says. I shake my head and snicker. Leilanee walks out looking beautiful as ever. We lock eyes and my heart began to beat a little faster than normal.

"You ready?" I ask. She nods, batting her eyelashes.

"Have her back home at a decent time. I don't want to have to call the cops on you, Sophie." Sammy jokes.

"Ha-ha. You got jokes." I laugh. Leilanee rolls her eyes and we hit the road.

I couldn't help but wonder why Syndei gave me that look. It was almost as if she didn't like the fact that me and Leilanee were hanging out. I won't look too deep into it. For now, I'd enjoy Leilanee's company. She needed a good friend after all of the shit she's been through and that's what I planned on being.
