Chapter 144: Promotion Test II

The group settled at the food court. The written test lasted for a few hours and they decided to take a short break before the Practical Exam starts.

"Erin-sama, I have brought another glass of juice."

"Thank you Ravel." Erin accepted the drink and took a sip. "Thanks to your tips, I was able to answer some of the devil-related questions about culture."

"O-Of course!" A faint blush adorned the girl's cheeks. "I will be troubled if you didn't pass since I became your manager!"

"Fufu. She's in tsundere mode." spoke Akeno beside Erin

"Argh! What is up with those other questions! It was so unfair!" Issei whined and slumped tiredly on the table.

"Write the names of the enemy leaders that appeared in the show, Levi-tan. Why is there a question about the magical girl and Serafall-sama?"

"There was also a part where we have to write down the names of the leaders of the enemy organizations." Erin mused

"Right? How the fuck should we know about that?

Kiba was eating a sandwich next to Issei. After he finished, he threw the wrapper on the bin and said

"So the practical part is next."

"Yeah. At least it's the category that I'm good at."

"I heard that it will occur on the roof of this Stadium." Ravel said as she flipped through the documents.

"Issei-kun, it's not good if you overdo it." said Akeno as she sipped her tea. "All of us will do just fine."

"Hah? Azazel also said that but I don't understand why." Issei mumbled in confusion.

"They told us that the practical won't be a problem for us. But why though?" Erin gazed curiously at the raven head. Akeno gave Erin a look and the Goddess understood it.

"I see.. Akeno is right, Issei. Don't worry about it."  The boy became more confused

"But Erin-

"You'll be fine. Trust me." shrugged Erin.

"It seems like Akeno is telling me that our present level of power is too much for this test. Well.. they indeed thought that we should be promoted to High-class devils immediately."

The 4 headed to the roof of the stadium and changed into their jersey. They joined the other examinees on the place and did some warm-up exercises. A few minutes later, one of the examiners started explaining

"The practical is quite simple. We will have the participants battle each other. We will have everyone draw a number, and that will decide who you will battle."

The explanation continued

"The battle will be looked at as a whole so even if you lose to your opponent, you will not necessarily lose the opportunity to pass. We will look at the battle in depth so if you have the 3 satisfactory criteria of heart, technique, and body, we will allow you to get points equivalent of what you showed."

Another examiner clapped his hands

"Try to have the battle be as good as possible! Using weapons is allowed. You will fail if your opponent dies but if the death occured due to an accident then we, the examiners, will decide the outcome."

"What does he mean by a Good battle? All of the battles I had until now were fights like an ape." Issei said

"You just have to fight normally and avoid getting your opponents killed." answered Kiba. "Unlike the High-class Promotion test, Mid-class Promotion test does not require strategies and tactics so it is quite simple."
