Chapter Twenty-One

As you got into the jet you noticed Bucky hadn't come to say goodbye, you attempted to say words but they were muffled by sobs and cries. Sam again pulled you in for another hug, he squeezed as tight as he could; you stayed like this for some time until you feel asleep, Sam carried you too one of the beds and tucked you in, he gave you a kiss on the head and left.

"How is she?" Steve asked, "she's asleep. I think she wore herself out." Sam said taking a seat, Steve just stared at where you were sleeping, a million thoughts running through his mind. "Steve, don't. Her feelings for you I think are only friendship, or brotherly. I think the love ship sailed a long time ago." Sam said patting him on the shoulder. "Better get some sleep before we hit New York." Sam said walking to the bedroom he put you in, he curled up in the single bed next to your bed to watch over you.

Steve looked at both of you sleeping and felt lost, he needed someone who truly understood him and one was back in Wakanda, one was dead and the other properly wouldn't talk to him after what happened in Germany and him disappearing.

"What do I do?" Bucky said to Shuri, she sat in front of him. "A quote by Guillaume Musso - It's scary being loved. Because life is complicated and all too often it throws you off balance by sending you the right person. At the wrong time." Shuri said pulling up a video.

"This is from before she left. She wanted to leave you this, she wanted you to know how she felt." Shuri said, "then why didn't see stay." He asked, "Barnes, just watch." Shuri said.

"This shows her happiness." Shuri said, the memories included, her twerking with Sam in a club, playing never have I ever with the avengers, Thor's booming laugh, when she woke up next to Bucky after the snap, Bucky belly laughing, when you pinned Bucky, when you saw Sam and Nat again in Wakanda, when you, different memories of you staring at Bucky from afar, watching different movies with Bucky, training with Bucky, your first kiss with Bucky, when Bucky came up to you after Steve told you you couldn't fight and when you walked out of the orange bubble together.

"Anger." Shuri said it showed memories of, Steve kissing Sharon both times, trying to fight for the accords, Zemo trying to turn Bucky into winter, Steve telling you you couldn't fight along side them, whenever Steve would say sorry but you knew he was lying, when Thanos injured Bucky, some of the stories Bucky told you when he was tortured and when you were defending in cases including Scott & Clint.

"Pain." Shuri said, it included memories of you losing both your parents, you being shot, watching Bucky dust, watching Bucky in danger, when Bucky told you nothing could happen between you two because of Steve, finding out Tony had passed away, when you spoke to Shuri about leaving and the pain when you turned into dust.

"Desire." Shuri said, yours and Steve's first kiss, your first kiss with Bucky, when Bucky called you baby girl for the first time, the look you gave him while watching Pearl Harbour, when Bucky called you doll the first time, when you stood outside his door before he opened it, after Thanos threw you both and you hugged while laying on the floor, when you were fighting side by side and the kiss he gave you after telling you you could fight with him.

Bucky stared up at the screen, his face showed a mixture of emotions. "You need to fight for her. Steve wronged her on so many different occasions, he has no right to keep her from you. I have a lot of respect for the Captain, but he is wrong. Y/N doesn't belong with him, she belongs with you." Shuri said, Bucky still sat there and watched the memories of you. Shuri left him alone for some time until he was ready to talk or leave the lab.

You, Sam and Steve got back to the tower in New York, you stepped out of them jet with a sullen look across your face, your eyes were puffy, your nose red and your cheeks red. Steve and Sam watched as you walked into the tower.

"I'm so sorry to do this to you right know y/n. But we need help, all of Tony's enemies and investors are trying to take shares or stocks or trying to ruin his company." Rhodney says, "your not bothering me. Get me all the paperwork together and I'll sort this out by the end of today." You said through a horse voice, "are you sure?" Rhodney said, "it can wait until Miss Potts is ready?" He said, "James, I do not want this on Miss Potts shoulders, I will have his company secured by the end of today." You said smiling at him a little, "how much?" Rhodney asked, "absolutely nothing. I will secure a future for Miss Potts and there baby girl." You said walking to the guest room.

You worked through the night without think of Bucky, you focused solely on the paperwork in front of you. Steve tried to talk to you and so did Sam but you ignored them both. Like you said by the end of the day you'd generated multi documents and had them sent out to the correct people, the company was secure and Pepper and Morgan had nothing to worry about.

Once you'd finished you got into bed attempting to fall asleep, your mind drifted back to leaving Bucky and tears sprung to your eyes, you buried your head in your pillow and let the tears flow. Steve watched at the door and he hated it, he went to walk in but Sam stopped him. "She'll come to us when she's ready." He said, "I can't just leave her crying there." Steve said, "What are you trying to do Steve? Make up for lost time? She's left Bucky to not get in the way of your friendship. She's the strongest mf I've ever met, if that was me, honestly after what you did to her, friendship would be over and I'd be back in Wakanda with Bucky." Sam said, "what you ever did to deserve someone that loyal is completely beyond me." Sam said, Steve knew he was right.
