Sam POV
Granted, it must have been a bit of a shock to her. You know, finding out angels are real, and that her uncle helped raise us two. But she didn’t have to keep us tied up; she’d done all the tests and it was obvious we were human!
How does she even know Bobby anyway?
‘Hey, Bobby?’ I called out. We’d been sitting down for three hours now, and all Bobby and the girl were doing were pacing about the room and having hushed conversations outside. I don’t think he heard me.
All of a sudden we heard a shout and a gunshot.
‘Hey! What the hell is going on?!’ Dean growled.
Bobby came in and just shrugged before walking back out again, passing Cas on the way.
‘Cas! Can you get us out of here?’ Dean asked, struggling against his bonds.
‘I’m sorry, Dean, but I cannot enter the trap,’ he said.
‘What? But it’s a devil’s trap! You can get in here!’ I exclaimed.
‘I can, but I cannot enter that,’ Cas replied, gesturing above us. We looked up at the ceiling, where, when Cas flipped the lights off, a detailed trap appeared on the ceiling in ultraviolet. Then we heard Bobby and the girl walk in.
‘What the hell?!’ Bobby said as Castiel switched the lights back on. The girl just shrugged.
‘Found it in a book a while ago. I didn’t think angels existed, no offence feather-ass, but it’s better to be safe than sorry,’ she said casually.
‘Untie them,’ Bobby said severely, pointing to us. She came over and undid the knots around our wrists and ankles expertly, her finger unravelling the ropes at lightning speed.
‘Now go outside. I want to talk to them,’ he said to her, raising an eyebrow.
‘Bu- ‘ she started.
‘No buts. Go outside, before I put a padlock on the fridge,’ he threatened. She sighed dramatically and walked out.
‘Okay, Bobby. Spill. Who the hell is she?’ I said to him seriously.
‘Yeah, Bobby. She’s pretty but isn’t she a little young for you?’ Dean smirked jokingly. He was right, she was pretty. Tall, slim, long dark hair, hazel green eyes. She even wore a flannel shirt.
‘Don’t you talk about family like that, boy!’ Bobby starting raising his voice.
‘Woah, family? Bobby, who is she?’ I was shocked. He sighed.
‘Her name is Maya. She’s my niece,’ he mumbled.
‘Bobby? Why haven’t you told us about her before?’ I said quietly, trying not to set of Dean’s stormy expression.
‘I didn’t want Maya brought up in the life. Yeah, I taught her how to protect herself, but I didn’t want her hunting. She insisted though, I let her go yesterday. Her mother, my sister, was killed in a car crash over by the falls when she was two. Don’t get me wrong, you boys aren’t bad people but I didn’t want her getting mixed up in all this,’ he said, exasperatedly.
We looked at each other. Bobby was right, none of us wanted to bring anyone up in our lifestyle, but sometimes, like Jo, you couldn’t stop them.
‘She do the hunt then?’ I asked.
‘I s’pose so. She was home early. I didn’t expect any different, to be honest. Maya’s a good shot, she can draw a perfect devil’s trap, knows all the ways to kill everything we know about. I even asked her how to kill an okami the other day, and she knew!’ Bobby exclaimed.
‘Just for… future reference, how do you kill an okami?’ Dean questioned.
‘Maya!’ he yelled.
‘What did you say to me yesterday morning about yelling?! Now you’re not getting any food,’ she smirked, folding her arms.
‘Just tell me, how do you kill an okami?’ he asked.
‘Stab it in the heart with a bamboo dagger blessed by a Shinto priest. Uncle Bobby, I told you this the other day,’ she seemed unimpressed.
Cas had been staring at her the whole time, and Maya seemed pretty unnerved by it.
‘Hey, feather-ass, quit staring, would you?’ she asked, somehow innocently.
‘Sam, Dean, Bobby, I need to talk to you,’ he simply said, and walked out. We followed him.
‘Cas, what’s going on?’ Dean was restless, and tired, and hungry. Not a good mix.
‘She’s not human,’ Cas replied.
‘Excuse me?! She’s my niece! Of course she’s human!’ Bobby pushed Cas back against the wall.
‘Bobby! Let him explain,’ I pulled him back.
‘She has angel’s grace in her blood,’ Bobby was fuming, but let him continue. ‘I can tell the angel it once belonged to. Isda, the angel of nourishment, rebelled years ago. Mental illness became quite well known in the 1980’s, yes?’ Cas asked.
We all nodded. Dean and I obviously didn’t remember, but we’d been told about it in the many schools we went to.
‘Isda fell from heaven when she was banished in 1982. Her grace was never found. Until now,’
