"Not so fast love". Normani jumped. "Lauren, jeez you scared me. Still are actually. Whats up?" She asked, looking a bit scared at me. I laughed. "I'm kidding Normani. I just wanted to talk to you. So, you free now?" She looked at me sceptically before anwsering. "Sure. Ice cream?"
I walked to the passenger seat of her car, but I felt someone watching me. I turned around and saw a glimpse of brown hair turning around the corner. Not thinking much of it, I stepped in Normani's car. We sat in a silence, the only sound was from her radio, softly playing Beyonce.
"Go ahead, I'll order you something. You like banana's right?" Normani asked me. I smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I'll find us some seats." I found a booth in the corner of the small store, and grapped my phone. I saw a tweet from Camila.

That's weird. I didn't know she and Austin broke up. I looked up when Normani came back and I turned my phone off. She shifted uncomfortable under my gaze. "Normani chill. I'm not gonna kill you." I tried to joke. "Please call me Mani. Normani is too long." She smiled, still not entirely sure if I won't kill her. "Sure, Mani. I'm not gonna kill you. But I might will." "W-what?" I looked her dead serious in her eyes. "If you ever, if it's her fault or yours, ever, hurt Dinah, I will kill you." She relaxed a bit, but not too much. "I, Normani Kordei Hamilton, promise you Lauren, that I will never hurt Dinah. I lo-ike her. I like her a lot." She blushed. Not meeting my eyes.
"Look Mani. I believe you." She narrowed her eyes. "You do?" I smirked. "I mean you almost told me you love her so yeah." She didn't say anything, but her cheeks spoke for her. "But seriously. You seemed to really like her. And she deserves someone like you. " She smiled. And I did too. Dinah is amazing and Normani's just perfect for her.
"Sooo, now that my love life is explained. How about you?" She asked, starting to eat her ice cream which started to melt. I coughed. "Well everone at schools hate me for being gay, but uhh..." I was thinking about telling her about Brad. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea. "Hold up I need to go to the bathroom." I stood up before she got the chance to say anything and I grapped my phone from my back pocket.
To Brad:): Hi, I thought about you're offer and I'm in. Do you mind me telling some friends? I mean Dinah obviously knows, but Normani is interested in my love life and I don't have any other friends so it's just the two of them. -Lauren
From Brad:): Hi, Yess! I don't care who you tell and not. Do you want to pretend at school aswell?-Brad
To Brad:): I'll think about it. Thankyou:) I'll text my parents tonight, when they're back, maybe they could 'officially' meet you. -Lauren
From Brad:): Yeah sure, lmk what happends:) -Brad.
I put my phone away and saw Normani still sitting on the same spot I left her. "Hi, sorry about that." I quickly apologized. "No problem. What did you want to say?" I took a moment before saying: "How much time do you have? 'Cause it's a long story." She smiled. "Three hours." So I explained everything nessesary. The situation with my parents, Austin's bullying and Brad's proposition. I left the part with my major crush on Camila away. After the story, Normani not interrupting me once (very different from Dinah) was quiet.
"I had no idea. Damn girl." She had no emotion in her eyes. I think I saw a flash of regret but maybe I imagined that. "I just want you to know that you aren't worthless or anything. Your parents are wrong. And as for Austin, he really is a dick who doesn't deserve Camila in any way. Did you know he cheated twice? And I'm sorry but it's 2020, homophobia is just sad." I guess she noticed the look on my face 'cause she started talking. "Austin and Camila go way back. They've dated before high school, but he cheated with her best friend so she broke up with him. When they started high school, she became a cheerleader and he joined the footballteam, so it just made sence."
"Didn't you say he cheated twice?" I asked confused. "I did. Three months after they became official, she saw him kissing some other girl at a party. She wanted to break up with him, but he somehow convinsed her to stay with him and they stayed together since. Although they fought a lot last month." I can't help but think about what happend with me and Austin, and Camila helping me twice. Plus her tweet said she had a crush, but how can you have a crush when you're dating?
I decided to ask Normani. "Do you know who she was talking about on her twitter?" She looked weird. "What do you mean? Which tweet?" I showed her the picture she posted and saw Mani thinking. "I have no idea, but as one of her best friends, I will find out." I quickly nodded no. "You don't have to." "Oh but girl, I do. Mila is my best friend since kindergarten. We went different ways because she was popular as cheerleader and I joined glee and the soccer team, but that didn't mean that we don't love eachother. And we talk a lot so it's really a big deal that she didn't talk about this with me."
I nodded, not wanting to expose much of the feelings I have for the brunette. I knew that they we're friends but not that they talked so much. "Anyways, I need to go, my mom wants me home for dinner. Wanna join?" Normani stood up from the booth. I thought for a moment. "No thanks, see you tomorrow?" I stood up aswell. "Yeah sure. See you tomorrow. Don't kill Dinah for not spilling." She laughed. I countered: "Don't kill Camila for not spilling." We smiled, walking back to her car. "You need a ride?" I looked up at the sky. It was clear so I just nodded 'no' and walked back to my house.
