Lauren's POV:
"Can we talk?"
Oh my god. This is it. She's gonna tell me it was all an act and she doesn't actually like me. She'd never wanted to be my girlfriend. She did it out of pity. I know it. No, come on Laur. Don't think like that.
I nodded. "Fine." She winced at my short anwser, but I pretended I didn't notice. If she was scared of my reaction, maybe she was genuine.
"Before you say anything, if I really had a different girlfriend, would Normani and Chris let me be here?" She asked me, and I shook my head. She looked relieved, and made a move to get into my room. I let her and followed as she opened the doors to the balcony.
"The girl you saw was Ariana." I felt a pang of jealousy mixed with sadness at her name. Ofcourse it was a beautiful name, and it fitted her perfectly.
"She was the girl I told you about at our date in the woods. She is the girl my parents abandonned when I was thirteen because she was gay." She took a few moments, before adding, "She made me realize I'm gay."
I took a moment to let it all in. She luckily wasn't some other girlfriend. "No feelings?" I asked her, just to be absolutely sure.
"Not anymore. You're the only one I have feelings for. I-..." She trailed off. I smiled fondly at her.
"You what?" I asked. She took a deep breath, as if she was preparing herself for something.
"I love you."
I looked shocked at her. I wasn't expecting that, not even a little bit. Ofcourse I loved her, but I felt like I'd definitly scare her away if I'd say it this soon. She apparantly took my silence as a bad thing.
"I totally fucked everything up now didn't I?" She asked defeatedly. I shook my head, and leaned forward. I kissed her with everything in me. We broke away after a while, and she gave me a dazed smile.
"I love you too." I said, and took her lips in between mine again. Even though it was the middle of december, we stayed that night on the balcony, and fell asleep wrapped up in eachothers arms.
--
Christmas came and went by fast. Camila and I agreed not to give eachother presents, so obviously I got her a new book she wanted, and she got me a necklace with the moon on it. We baked cookies for Chris and Bella, who by now almost lived in our house, and met up with Dinah, Ally and Normani to go out.
The rest of the week went by calmly, luckily no drama whatsoever.
We were now prepping my house for a new years party with the five of us. Dinah wanted us to go to an actual party, but the rest didn't want anything big, so we agreed to come to mine and just enjoy the evening.
Chris and Bella had gone out with some of their friends, so we didn't need to worry about supervision, and Ally had managed to get a bottle of champagne, while Dinah brought some wine.
I saw Camila standing in front of the door to my backyard, just staring outside.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I stood next to her. She looked up at me, and gave a soft smile.
"Yeah, it's just... This is the first new year I spend without my parents." She looked back outside, and I gave her a sympathetic smile.
"Do you miss them much?"
"Ofcourse. They are my family." She said quickly. I started to apologize, but she spoke before I could.
"Ofcourse I miss them. But only the good times we had. Like, when I was eight, my mom took me to a spa. We had a great day together. It was nice, there were no boys or girls fucking everything up, you know? It was good."
