"You're Vivianne's daughter? You're supposed to be dead!"
"Everytime I'm around bloody Pug-Face Parkinson I wish I was."
"I'm confused, didn't Dumbledore kill you and your mother?"
She looked at me wide-eyed, taking a deep breath before saying her next few words, "I think I can trust you. But before I tell you anything I'll need to be 100 percent sure I can. Be honest, are you a seer?"
"I'm not sure. I've never had a vision before, but my friend Hermione says that I should be having one soon."
"You're a baby?"
"Pardon me?" I said, a bit offended.
"A baby seer. That's what they call us when we're developing. You get a feeling in your gut that predicts the future sometimes, don't you?"
"Yeah, I do."
"You should be fully developed by now, but I guess there are always a few late bloomers. I had my first vision when I was 13."
"Wow! What did you see?"
"Death." She said coldly.
"Oh. I- I'm sorry."
She shrugged, "Don't be. I'm used to it."
"Who'd you see die?"
"Some old Muggle. Fainted on the street and he was gone in an instant. It's a shame, but you can't do anything about it."
She sunk into her chair and kicked her feet over the table that was propped between us. Her jaw relaxed on her knuckles as she tapped her fingers on her other hand on the table, fiddling with her wand once in a while.
"Okay well you're a seer and I'm a seer, which means that we've got to stick together no matter what. People will pretend to understand us because of what they read in books or shit like that, but they never will. They don't know what it's really like."
"True that.... When Cedric died- did you feel anything?"
"No. But if I were a baby I would've. Damn, that must have sucked."
"Tell me about it."
"You want to know the truth?"
"Please? It seems like nobody has been willing enough to share that today."
"So you think that Dumbledore killed my mom, right?"
"Yes, after the Order of the Phoenix Base was infiltrated by Death Eaters."
"Well, he was going to." She said sorrowfully, "But she begged him to let her live. She said she was willing to die for the Order but not until after I was born. She wanted me to have a life, so he pretended to kill her by aiming the killing curse an inch away from where was, and having her fake her death."
"Vivianne's alive then? Why did she never tell my mum-"
"It's complicated. She tried to tell her everything she could. She sent her a note. As soon as I was born Dumbledore ordered her to flee from Europe and get as far away from the wizarding world as possible. And that's exactly what she did. She faked her death and ran away so I could live with the burden and a few letters explaining everything. She's a great lady." She said that last sentence with a hint of sarcasm, as well as bitterness.
"Wow. I'm so sorry. So does that mean Dumbledore isn't evil after all?"
"Depends how you see it. Some thought it was the best option they had, in order to save more lives. I think he was too lazy to try to hide her better. But evil? No."
