Trauma. At least 70% of the US population has suffered from it. Ridiculous right? But Trauma can be caused by many different things and people react to it differently. Childhood Trauma happens to 33% of children I just happen to be in that 33%. When I was younger I witnessed a kidnapping at a restaurant called Fredbear's family diner. Two of my friends were lead into the back as I watched I didn't think anything of it until at the end of the party when the parents were panicking. I wasn't able to get the words out of what had happened because I would bawl my eyes out just thinking about it. No one would understand what I said, we never went to that diner again. We went to the next location when it opened and I met a group of kids there, they welcomed me in but in the middle of the day we were lead into a back room but I couldn't go back there it just gave me a big sense of Deja vu and I ended up having a panic attack. They showed up in the newspaper the next week as missing my parents saw a connection after the fourth incident. Then we moved halfway across the country and far away from cities and was home schooled. I had become mute so a live in therapist was hired. But once I was recovering and was getting close to being able to talk again, Fazbear entertainment evicted us. The therapist was lost and we moved in with my aunt who just lived three blocks from a Freddy Fazbear's. My little brother was instantly fascinated with it.
"(Y/n) please? It's your brother's first birthday party with friends" Mom pleaded, she was putting the groceries away while dad sat and watched.
'No, it's too dangerous' I wrote, showing her the white board and picking up an item to put away.
"What is so dangerous about it? It's a restaurant for children?" Dad questioned, looking at me as if I was crazy.
'It's a death trap!' I wrote, dad laughed before speaking.
"The whole world is a death trap! You can't be scared forever!" Dad yelled.
'I know it is but the kidnappings!' I wrote.
"There is no question about it! You are twenty three and afraid of a kids attraction! You still live with your parents for crying out loud! He is going to have his birthday party there if you come or not!" Dad yelled.
'It doesn't matter how old I am that norm of moving out when your eighteen was when jobs were growing from trees!' I wrote, but dad doesn't care about facts.
"Then how about you get a job!" Dad yelled, "look Freddy Fazbears is hiring for a night guard good thing you're a night person!" Dad yelled, showing me the newspaper add.
'No, I can't' I wrote, he looked at me as if I was being unreasonable about this.
"You hate the place because your friends disappeared there but after hours the place is empty. It's safe for you, and they were going after kids then you aren't a kid anymore (y/n)" Mom smiled, she had finished putting the groceries away and Jett had just entered the room.
'I'm sorry mom I can't' I wrote, walking out of the room. I pated Jett's head on the way out.
"I just don't understand why she wouldn't take the job!" Dad yelled, they were arguing in the kitchen while I was reading a book in the living room.
"Any kid would be traumatized by what she's been through" Mom spoke, I moved closer to the door way.
"She's going to take the job, if she's going to live here she should contribute to the bills and rent" Dad yelled.
"She has that snide job why would she need to work there?" Mom spoke.
"Come on! She only does that job every few weeks" dad yelled, they were just going to keep going so I walked in and they looked at me.
"I'm sorry honey, did we bother you?" Mom asked.
'I'll take the job' I wrote, my dad looked happy now.
"I hope you do good at your interview, weird that it's held so late at night" Mom nodded, she smiled but she was worried about me working there.
'Don't worry they said if the interview goes well I'll go right into working' I wrote, she nodded and helped me get my coat on.
"Without training?" Dad questioned, mom looked at him as if she was done with him at this point.
"(Y/n)! Is it true that you're going to work at Freddy Fazbears?" Jett asked, he was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement.
'Yeah, but you won't see me because I work the night shift' I wrote, he looked a little disappointed.
"You better get going, I'll get Jett back to bed" mom sighed, she smiled and waved.
"Are you (y/n) (l/n)?" The interviewer asked, I nodded and he waved for me to come over, he seemed a little shaken up about something.
'I'm mute so I don't talk' I wrote, hoping that they don't think I'm rude for not responding immediately.
"Being able to be silent is good" the interviewer nodded, I was confused about this but shrugged it off.
'I don't plan on working here longer than a week, I have some bad experiences here' I wrote, he sighed then nodded.
"A temp? That'll work, as long as I can get out of here before midnight" the interviewer nodded.
'What happens at midnight?' I wrote, this startled the interviewer and they switched the subject.
"Your uniform will be in the break room, here's the combination for the lock, I need to lock up the restaurant. Someone will send you home at six" the interviewer nodded, handing a slip of paper with six numbers. I headed to the room that said break room and unlocked the locker taking out the uniform. I put it on and it strangely fit just right, I headed to a small office with cameras. I sat down at 11:59 and got started. Once the clock stroke midnight the phone rang, I didn't pick it up since phone calls don't work for me. Someone's voice played and I couldn't respond but he did say that the animatronics were alive. ALIVE? I looked at the cameras and non of the animatronics were in there place I checked the doors and there they all were I quickly closed both doors and hid under the desk. Is this how I die? I heard the power go out and the doors opened. Footsteps were heard and a hand grabbed me. It pulled me out from under the desk and took me out of the office and into an old storage room. A flashlight was turned on but I couldn't see who was holding it.
"What were you doing? You can't just leave the doors open all night!" The man whisperer yelled. My whiteboard wasn't with me and I could only stare at the light from the flashlight.
"What are you deaf? Answer!" The man yelled, I flinched and shook my head. He had a quick realization.
"You're mute" He spoke. I nodded and started to look for a way out this man was clearly crazy. I started to have a panic attack. Someone took me into the back how they disappeared, it got me thinking about how I almost disappeared! I started to bawl my eyes out.
"Why are you crying?" The man asked, he set the flashlight down next to me and awkwardly hugged me. He pulled away and I could see his face. He was purple, I jumped away and landed on the floor, he looked disappointed.
I noticed a lack in fan fiction for Micheal Afton so I jumped the gun and wrote this. The character is mute not only because of Trauma but because I need to practice not relying on dialogue. Farewell Reader~Chan/Kun!
