once upon a time in a land called the Feywild, there lived David the Giant Goliath, his wife, Mae the leprechaun, and their son, Lucky. Lucky was a special child, having two parents from separate races. Lucky was a great student, son, and person overall. But one day, when Lucky had reached his growth spurt, he had noticed he was taller than the rest of the kids his age. He thought nothing of it until one day one of his classmates shouted at him "You're far too tall to be a leprechaun! I mean look at you! You're only 12 and you're already 3 feet tall, what a loser!". Now, Lucky was always happy, but this made Lucky's smile turn into a frown. Lucky wasn't very happy at this sentence, Lucky was rather sad. So sad, he cried all the way back home from school. Lucky's tears were so noticeable both of his parents immediately asked Lucky "What happened at school, Lucky?". Lucky then looked up with tears in his eyes with a question as a response. "Mom, Dad, why am I taller than all of the other leprechauns?". Both David and Mae took a minute of silence before agreeing to tell their son Lucky the truth. "Well, Lucky..." David began "as you can see, your mother, Mae, is a leprechaun, but I am not. I am a Goliath, Goliaths are naturally tall, standing around 7 feet tall as an average height. That is why you are taller than all of the other children at your school." . Lucky then looked at his parents with confusion and asked "If I'm supposed to be tall like you, then why do some of my classmates keep calling me names?" "Well..." Mae had chimed in "Not everyone likes others who are a mix of two races, unfortunately.". Lucky only became even more saddened by this news, this meant for Lucky that he would have to deal with people not liking him for who he was his entire life. But this didn't stop Lucky from living his life to his fullest! As Lucky grew older, he also grew taller and taller and taller, eventually growing taller than his own father by 3 feet once he became an adult! His parents were proud of him, he would help all of the other leprechauns with high reaching places, and he was seen as a great protector of the village because of his size! But of course, as his parents said, some of the leprechauns of his village didn't like him being of two races very much, so they did the only thing they've always wanted to do to Lucky, and that was to bully him! One day a very large amount of leprechauns had grouped together and found Lucky doing what he does best, helping others. "Hey, Tally!" one of the leprechauns exclaimed. This caught the gentle giant's attention. "Oh, my name is Lucky!" Lucky replied to the comment. "Yeah, we know what your name is but we don't care, you big oaf!". Lucky looked at the crowd of leprechauns and frowned, for he saw all of those he thought were his friends now calling him mean names. This brought pain to his heart and tears to his eyes, causing him to run all the way back to his parent's home, and just like before, his parents noticed their son saddened, even more so than the last time. Lucky immediately hugged mom and his dad and said "I'm moving away! I don't like living in a place where people dislike me for who I am,, for what I can't control!". Lucky's parents both understood and helped Lucky pack everything he needed to travel somewhere far away from the village. As they all finished packing, David and Mae gave their son, Lucky, a great big hug, almost as big as Lucky! "Just don't forget to write to us, Lucky." David requested. "And don't forget that we will always love you!" Mae had added in. This made Lucky smile and respond "I love you too!" before he snuck out the back door and began his long travel to a better place where he wouldn't be judged on his race or his looks or even his style, but rather, on the size of his heart, and make fond memories with real friends, where he could live happily ever after!
