Frank's room was exactly how you would expect a teenage boy who wasn't expecting guests' room to look. His duvet, enclosed in 'Riot!' album cover patterned bedsheets, was lying half on and half off of his bed, a small basket in the corner of his room was overflowing with worn clothes awaiting a wash and a large amount of school books and binders full of notes and guitar chords were strewn across the beige carpeted floor.  There was a strong smell of sweat clinging to everything that Frank was completely nose-blind to.  It was combined with the overwhelming, and much more pleasant, sent of what could only be described as 'Frank' that lingered in the air.

"Benvenuto nel il disordine che è la mia stanza (welcome to the mess that is my room)," Frank said, dumping the bags he was carrying and manoeuvring his way through the clutter to flop face first onto his bed.

Unsure what to do, Gerard stood awkwardly at the door, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.  Noticing this, Frank peeled himself off of his bed to gently take Gee's hand and lead him back over to his bed.

"What do you want to do Principessa?" Frank asked, wrapping his arms around the shorter teen and flopping back onto his bed, pulling him down with him.

Gerard let out an adorable giggle and curled closer onto Frank.  Frank was warm and comfortable and Gee never wanted to let go.  He would have been content to just stay there all evening in the others arms.  Frank's fingers began tracing shapes on his back against his clothes absentmindedly, fingertips barely touching enough for him to feel it through the fabric, and Gerard burrowed impossibly closer.  There was a smile spread across Frank's face, not that Gee could see it, and he let his other hand rub gentle circles against the little's hip.

"If you want to be small, we could do colouring or watch a film.  Or I could help you with your homework if you want to be big,"  Frank said and Gerard groaned at the very idea of homework.  He knew he had a lot of homework and, not only did he have no idea where to start with it all, he had no idea how he was supposed to do because he had been too far in his headspace to even begin to understand what the teachers had been saying all day.  Frank chuckled slightly.  Gee could feel the vibrations of his chest against his side.  "I could help you with your homework anyway, even if you're little.  You have to do it at some point and Mikey might be too busy to help if you need it."

Frank definitely had a point there.  Mikey would be far to busy to sit down with Gerard and try to understand the Cold War for his European History class or read the next thirteen chapters of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice for British Literature.  It wouldn't be so bad if Mikey was older and had already taken the courses, already knew the content, but he was younger and had to learn the curriculum years early - and on top of the things he needed to learn for his classes - just so he could explain it to his older brother.

"Homework it is then," Frank said.  "I might be able to find some cookies if we work hard enough."

yo, hi.  hello to all my readers, whether you've just stumbled across this fic or have had it in your library for a while awaiting an update (in which case, thank you for believing in my ability to eventually get my shit together), i appreciate you all and i hope you're all enjoying what i've written.

i'm honestly really sorry it's taken me this long to update.  i hadn't intended for it to take this long and for this chapter to be so short again.

i could make some excuse about the whole post-christmas lockdown and dwindled motivation for even basic human functions but i honest don't know why it's taken my this long to write this and update.

i've kind of thrown myself at ao3 recently and have been reading way too much.  i've also been writing a lot (just not this for whatever reason) and so expect me to post some stuff maybe soon.  i'm gonna post the first of a handful of fluff oneshots i've written right after i post this so go check that out if it's something you think you might like :)

here's to hoping 2021 treats us better than 2020 did,

reuben
