"Better things must await me."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"How did we come here?" I spoke, my head feeling unusually dizzy, my stomach twisting around in my intestine. I looked up, barely being able to open my eyes and saw the "Platform 9¾" sign.
"Portkey." My mother said as she stuffed a small, weird shaped, plate into her bag.
"A what-" before I could get my answer, my dad spoke.
"It feels like years since we've been here." he said holding my mom's hand, he pointed to a window and continued speaking, "That's the compartment we met in, remember?" he asked.
"Of course I remember." Couple tears came out of my mother's right eye. Hogwarts must have been really important for them.
"Um-" I said and coughed to let them know I was there.
"Last 5 minutes!" A man yelled, standing next to the train.
"Come here." My mom said and pulled me in for a long comforting hug. A goodbye hug. I hugged her back very tightly, almost choking her. Then it was my dad's turn. I surrounded my arms around him and gave him a big hug. "You'll be just fine." he continually whispered the same sentence in my ear.
"Send and owl to us for anything, and don't forget to send letters. Ok?" My mom said wiping away her tears as I slowly started walking towards the train.
"I love you Mom! I love you Dad!" I shouted and gave them a wave before I went in the train.
I wasn't going to see them until Christmas, which was going to be the longest time being apart from them. I was nervous but I was so happy to get a new start of a new life.
I could hear many chatterings, many laughs all around the train. There were so many people with robes and couple had sweaters. My mom mentioned the four houses while getting my luggage ready. She told me that my dad was a Ravenclaw and that she was a Hufflepuff.
They guessed I'd be a Ravenclaw too since I valued intelligence, learning, wisdom and wit.
"Watch where you are going new girl!" A sound of an evil girl bumped into me and passed by me as her friends laughed, joining her. I could notice their robes were green.
"Stay away from the Slytherins." I remembered my dad warning me from before.
Great first impression Katherine. Great first impression, I mumbled inside my brain and tried to find an empty compartment to sit in. So many people already had friends since it was their 5th year, but me, I had no one.
I finally found an empty compartment and sat in it. No one else was in it. And I assumed no one would come since I was in it. I put my luggage next to me and stared out the window, wondering what this school would do to me.
How it would change my life.
How it would make question everything.
How it was going to flip my world upside down.
If I was ever going to fit in.
Many, good and bad, scenarios went on in my head. Imagining all sort of stuff. I got disturbed by the noise of the door slowly sliding and opening up.
"Got any empty seats?" A boy, with sweaters and a scar on his forehead appeared, his hair was messed up and a ginger boy peeked in behind him.
"Um- sure." I said not being able to tell their intentions.
