~ Just to let everyone know! Since all the people in this story are immortal they stop aging at about the age 25 so no one will be very old. The kids' ages range from 14-16. Lyra is 16, Alex, Ronnie, and Kairi are 15, Martzi is 14. That's what Lyra will look like! Ignore the long hair on the cover!!~
Lyra's POV
"God Kairi stop! It's my damn food!! I caught it fair and square!" Ronnie growled baring his sharp teeth. This is a normal morning at breakfast... Kairi thinks it's fun to patronize Ronnie while he eats because he gets a little feral. Kairi just laughs at him until Ronnie either bits her hand or Jeff scolds her, which is often.
"Kairi! Leave Ronnie alone! Can't he have ONE peaceful breakfast?!" Jeff growls from across the kitchen. Alex chuckles happily as he nudged Martiz's curly hair with his tendrils. Alex was the most adorable thing ever! He was pure white and had only a mouth on his face with very sharp teeth also, but he had short choppy black hair on his head. Martzi laughed happily as Alex kept fiddling with her curls. Ronnie kept his hair short and used styling gel to flip the front upwards. He was eyeless just like his dad but his hair was a deep oil black color.
"Children! Please come to the dinning room!" Slender called. We all looked at each other confused because we had done nothing wrong today... yet.
We enter the dinning room and notice that all our parents were there along with everyone else that lived in the house. "What's going on?" Ronnie asked suspiciously. "Children the time has come for you to chose what you will do as a killer. Will you work solo? Will you be a proxy? The choice is your's, but you can not work under your parents as their proxy you must choose someone else." We all looked at each other surprised.
"I wanna work alone." Ronnie said giving a devilish smirk. EJ just chuckled and shook his head. "I wanna work alone too." Alex said kinda quietly, unsure of himself. "I wanna work alone also!" Kairi exclaimed happily. "That's my girl!" Jeff yelled giving Kairi a hug. "I wanna work along side Laughing Jack!" Martzi said smiling cheekily. Everyone looked at me waiting for an answer, I didn't really wanna work alone although I wanted to be a proxy too.... hmmm.
"I choose Jeff." I knew Jeff would work me too the bone, but I want to be a grade A killer. Jeff gave me a dark look with a bit of surprise. "Lyra baby you don't-" "No dad. This is what I want to do." I said cutting my dad off before he could try to talk me out of my choice. "Lyra are you sure?" Jeff asked in a dark voice. I looked at my mom and dad who gave me grim looks, but nodded saying it was fine.
"Yes." I said looking in Jeff's giant eyes. "Do I have to cut my face or can you just mark me in a different fashion?" I asked jokingly. Jeff gave a real smile before shaking his head. "No I won't make you do that, but training starts now." My eyes widen as Jeff led me down to the work out room. I didn't expect to start today!!
Three agonizing hours later I'm picking myself up off the wooden floor while spitting out blood from my dusted up lips. Jeff stood a few steps away, blood on the tape he used to wrap our knuckles. I jumped up quickly and rushed him trying to catch him off guard which never happened. Jeff was a crazy good hand to hand fighter, he could easily take down three people at once. Jeff suddenly picked me up by my tank top and threw me away from him effortlessly. I lay of the floor gasping as I tried to catch my breath. I gave Jeff an evil look as he approached me to win the fight. "Okay Jeff enough of that for today. Help to find her a weapon now." Slender said ending our fighting. Jeff helped me up and helped me over to a bench across the room. "You lasted longer than I expected. You will shape up well." Jeff complimented as he gave me a water. As I sipped my water Jeff cleaned up the many cuts and scratches I had. "You wanna look for a weapon now or just do it later?" Jeff asks looking considerably tired himself. "Later." I said walking back up the the main floor.
"Oh Lyra! Look at your face! Jeff I'll kill you if anything scars!!" Mom yelled as I sat on the couch beside my dad, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Mom I'm part vampire it will heal." I laugh trying get some of the heat off Jeff. Mom growled angrily at Jeff before fussing over me some more. Man this is gonna be a long week....
