It was hard.
For Roger's honor and pride it was hard to go to someone and apologise. He'd rather pretend that nothing has ever happened. That's what it was always like with his friends and sister. There was an argument and hour later Roger was again happy and on good terms with the opponent.
And he loved people who could do the same. Argue and then act normally, like the argument has never taken place.
Brian was that kind of person that didn't need apologies from Roger, but always told him to apologise to the others. Roger hated this and never obeyed.
Never, until that moment.
All the way to the dorm Brian was walking hand in hand with Roger, half to make sure Roger won't chicken out and half to courage the boy.
Brian decided not to tell Roger that he's talked to Chris about everything. It was really awful to break Chris' heart, but he turned out to be very supportive towards Brian. Hell, he even wished Brian luck with his love interest.
"It won't be good." said Roger while walking up the stairs. Brian was following him, glad that Roger couldn't see his smile.
"It will be great, believe me." the older hopped up the last stair and followed Roger down the corridor to the door that led to his room. They could hear a muffled sound of Radio Luxembourg coming from inside.
Roger sighed, if he's going to apologise to the person that has a crush on his crush he might as well get other apologies done.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at Chris like this. He's a great guy and your friend." the blond put his hands in the pockets of his coat. Brian's eyebrows flew up. He couldn't imagine how many strange emotions had to be buzzing in Roger right now that it made him say 'I'm sorry' without being told to do so.
"Go." Brian threw the word carelessly and pushed the door open. He was leaning against the wall so Chris couldn't see that Brian was there. Roger took a deep breath, already eyeing the man inside and stepped in. The door closed behind him quickly.
Chris put his book down and sat up on his bed to face the unexpected visitor. When he reached to turn the radio off, Roger quickly pulled his hand out of his pocket and made a stop sign.
"No, leave it. I like this song." the blond smiled meekly. Chris returned the same smile.
"I like it too." he reduced the volume. His dark hair fallen from behind his ear so he tugged it back, giving Roger a smile again. Roger once again wondered if Brian was serious when he said Chris was only a friend.
"Seems like we both like the same things." Roger said, not expecting a response. Chris nodded with a small sigh. The younger boy looked down at his feet, deciding that he should get straight to the point. "I'm sorry for what happened on Friday."
"Yeah, I haven't hit you only because you're a kid." Chris snickered, eyeing Roger.
"Me? A kid? Please, Brian looks more like a kid than me!" the blond was slightly encouraged by Chris' reaction. The older one raised his eyebrows and let out a laugh.
"I know, right?! He's such a baby face!"
"Yeah! Everybody says that he looks so serious and mature and I just can't see past that baby face!"
"Oh God finally someone who also sees this!" Chris shook his head, chuckling. Roger walked up closer and sat on the bed beside Chris. They weren't talking for a moment. Just enjoying the fading sound of the song that was coming to it's end. But Roger started again, still feeling like he isn't done.
