Callies POVI wake up and check the time on the clock hung opposite my bedroom; I had been out for an hour but it felt like I had slept through the entire day. I can barely hear any noise outside my bedroom which likely meant my parents were likely out.
I sit up in my bed trying my hardest to ignore the constant throbbing of pain In the right side of my face, there was no doubt it had gotten even worse over the time I fell asleep, but I couldn't ignore it as much as I tried I just couldn't.
I rise from my bed and catch my reflection in the mirror, what I look back at revolts me.
I felt disgusting.
Not even because of my appearance, I just felt disgusted with myself.
I was weak. So so weak.
What normal person sustained a bruise from a simple slap at the side of their cheek.Everything about me was sensitive, it just showed that I was too weak for this life.
My skin was sensitive I was sensitive, way over sensitive.
From the corner of my eye my phone lights up on my dresser insinuating I have a notification and I unbotheredly wonder who could be messaging me.
Evan?
I hadn't heard from him in quite a while now so it just had to be him.
God knew I really needed to hear his voice especially now.
I pick up my phone and gasp when I see the contents of it.
45 missed calls.
18 new messages.
They were all from him. All from Evan.
I don't know why but my heart swelled as I stared into the screen of my phone. It just felt really good to know at least one person genuinely cared enough to call me, for whatever reason it made me happy.
How long had he been calling me?. He knew not to come over because I had told him my parents were coming back him this weekend.
Just as I contemplate what to do my phone lights up once again and the screen is filled with Evan's name. He was calling.
My shaky hands glide over before tapping on the button to press answer I bring the phone and press it into my ear taking a deep breath so as to make sure my voice didn't come out as shaky or weak, the last thing I wanted was for Evan to think something was wrong.
Because nothing was wrong. Nothing happened.
"God, Rosie I've been calling you for the past hour, where the hell have you been?!"
I have to distance my ear away from the phone due to the way Evan yells into it. He's tone was a mix of anger and concern and they were all being directed at me.
"I-I'm sorry I was asleep"
I hear him sigh followed by some shuffling " Baby are you okay? You sound like you've been crying"
My face turns to the mirror as I stare into the light purplish bruise that was being displayed on my face.
How did he know?.
My voice wasn't even that shaky, and I usually stuttered so how did he know?.
"What are you talking about I'm fine Evan, I did just wake up so m-my voice is a bit raspy sorry"
My eyes press shut as u listen closely to the silence that follows after my sentence wondering what he was going to say next.
I really hope he fell for it.
