Chapter 6 - A Long Day

*The next day*

~ Rehearsals ~

My best friend. Well, my former best friend you could say after 6 years... a person who I thought I had loved as a friend and nothing more (I think), a person I would cry all my problems to, a person who would steal my ice creams as a friend, now asked me to date him. And I said yes. Because, oh lord, I was falling in love with this man.

I laugh as Leslie and Jazzy sing their "practiced scatting" to me, as they soon burst into their own laughter.

I roll my eyes and try to find Lin. I walk into his dressing room and I see him laying down on his couch. I walk over to him quietly and rub my hand on his forehead softly. "Hey sleepyhead."

His eyes flutter open and a grin forms on his lips. He leans in to kiss me and I accept it. Sadly, it doesn't last long as we hear from outside "CAST MEETING NOW!"

We both roll our eyes and head out his dressing room, and see all eyes on us. "What??" I say, almost defensively.

They deadpan us.

"Look all you want, believe all you want, but Lin and I AREN'T dating."

They all grunt and form a circle. Lin and I join, but he sits away from me so the others don't get even more suspicious.

I see him walk over to Carleigh and sit next to her, and that jealous feeling hits me again. Shit. I think.

"Now, cast, the plan for today, is that we perform My Shot, Helpless, Schuyler Sisters and Non-Stop." Our director Tommy says to us.

"Four songs? Can't we take a break?-" Anthony sighs.

"Well, if you let me get to that- I was going to say, after we do Helpless, we can all have lunch. I'm saying... pizza?"

The whole cast cheers in admiration and agrees on pizza.

"Now, everybody get ready in your costumes, I'm giving you all 10 minutes!"

We all rush into our dressing rooms and immediately get changed.

I ask Nae to help me put on my corset and make sure it's not too tight, and then

I apply some makeup, even though I don't need to go on for another 30 minutes, as they will work on My Shot for a while.

Everybody steps out and they gather on stage, and the music starts. They all get into positions and start their dance. I watch Lin and I sit down in the audience seats, and I can't help but smile as he acts all nervous with his friends.

"I am not throwing away my shot!"

I laugh and start lip syncing along with his singing.

Jazzy and I's heads start bopping intensely as we fake frown like we normally do in Schuyler Sisters.

As My Shot ends, I get up on stage to do Helpless and get into positions.

The cast nods for me to go and I start singing with the music.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey""

"Oooh! I do I do I do I do (oOo)!"

I smile as I see Lin holding onto the right staircase.

"Hey!"

"Ooo! I do I do I do I do (ooo)!"

"Boy you got me helpless!"

As we run through Helpless, we all get an applause and I quickly head off the stage. Pizza!! I exclaim in my head excitedly. I feel a hand grab my waist from behind and shriek. I turn around and it's just Anthony.
