Chapter 17 - The Birth

*A couple days later, in the middle of the night*

Pip

That night, I woke up, feeling very uncomfortable. I felt several liquids coming out of me, and I was shocked.

Did I just pee myself? That never happens. The baby was due in a few days.. We aren't even prepared yet! Is it happening now?

"Lin. Lin. Lin!!" I nudged him anxiously.

Lin

"What?" I ask, half asleep.

"M-my..." She was breathing rapidly and it was hard to understand what she was saying.

"Hey, calm down, deep breaths, what is the matter?"

"Lin, my water just broke."

Well that was unexpected..

I shot up, shocked by the answer. "Are you okay? Do we need to go to the hospital?" I ask, concerned.

"I think so.." Her voice sounds shaky, I know she is scared.

"Oh my god. Okay, we need to leave. We have to- oh my god. Are you okay? Are you in pain? Are you hurting? Do you need to lay down? Do you want water? A bucket?" I keep asking questions, freaking out.

"Lin, Lin! Stop! We- we need to go to the hospital now! This baby wants to get out of me."

"Okay, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay. Let's grab the bag." I say.

I get out of bed, and then help Pip get out. "Pip, are you in any pain?"

"Not really, but my contractions are going to start really soon."

"Okay, take it easy." I give her a kiss, and continue packing extra things I hadn't packed beforehand.

A couple minutes later, I hear Pip wince.

"Ah!" She yells as she holds her stomach in pain.

"Have the contractions started?" I ask.

'Yes!!" She groans.

"Relax, I'm going to grab the bag."

She sits there, awaiting her next contractions and timing them.

Pip

It doesn't take too long before I get another one. Ouch, and this one was worse.

"Ah! Lin! Get in here!" I groan in pain.

"What? Is everything alright?!"

I squeeze his hand hard and he winces. I squeeze it tighter as the contraction becomes more tight.

And then the contraction is done.

"That contraction was baaad." I say.

"I could tell.." he says, rubbing his hand.

"How far apart are they?" He adds.

"Uh- 5 minutes..?"

"Okay Pip, we gotta go. I finished packing, let's go."

"Wait- what did you pack Lin?" I ask.

"A water bottle, clothes for you, a blanket, stress ball, toiletries, pads for you, baby clothes, baby rattle, lotion-"

"Okay! You just packed that all now?"

"Well- no.. I was ready months ago." He smiles and takes my hand.

I smile and then another contraction comes. "Fu-"

"Pips!"

"It hurts!!" I yell.
