Chiron did the obvious thing you would do to a teenage girl who just saw her mother and father get attacked by a giant snake.

He sent me to dinner with the other campers.

I wanted to sit with Will seeing as he was the only person I knew but for some reason I had to sit with the children of Hermes. Yeah, cause that makes sense.

To be fair though, they were all actually really funny and took my mind off my mum. Not completely, but enough to bring back an appetite.

I was sat between Connor, a boy with curly brown hair and just a few months younger than me, and Niamh, a girl with died purple hair who was almost exactly one year older than me. Throughout dinner they were constantly pranking each other. One time Connor sprayed Squirty Cream right in front of my face, coating Niamh in the stuff.

Where he got it I have no clue, but I will be the first to say it was hilarious.

Afterwards the camp did this thing where we put for into this massive fire and prayed to our parents.

I had no clue who to pray to, so for me it just felt like a waste of food.

Niamh must have seen how lost I felt cause she came up and whispered "Don't worry, just pray to your pet or something like I do, my dad gets enough attention as it is."

I decided then that I very much liked Niamh.

That night I slept in Cabin 11 with the Hermes kids. Niamh made a space next to her bed and I settled down in a surprisingly comfy sleeping bag.

Funnily enough though I wasn't tired. Sleeping for the whole day sort of messed that up for me. So instead I just lay there, alone with my thoughts. That was dangerous.

My Mothers screams echoed around my head until I couldn't take it any more. I got up as quietly as I could and snuck out the room.

I remembered Niamh saying something about killer guards so I stayed on the porch of the cabin, staying as still as I could, just trying to catch my breath.

Behind me I heard the door creak and saw Connor and his brother sneaking out. Travis, his brother, spotted me and nudged Connor. They looked at me and simultaneously put a finger to their lips. It was quite creepy really. But, who was I to question the most likely thieving acts of the children of the God of thieves.

I settled back down into my nervous breakdown position and focused all my remaining attention on the night sky.

It was especially beautiful that night, although its always beautiful at Camp half blood, that night the stars shone brighter than anything. Most of my focus was on this one star. It was bright orange, and it flickered slightly, almost like I could see the fire.

Then it started getting closer.

and closer.

and closer. Until its flame took up most of the sky.

I screamed and ran inside, preparing for a crash. The other campers in the cabin had been startled awake by my noise.

"Callie what's wrong" Connor asked. Wait? When did Connor get back? Oh never mind.

I couldn't manage any words. My brain felt melted and my tongue frozen. Instead I crawled onto the ground like the pathetic demigod I am.

Suddenly the whole cabin lit up with an orange glow and I prepared myself for the worst.

Instead, the only noise that came was from a young child, maybe 8 or 9, screaming at the top of his lungs.

"LEO'S BACK. I TOLD YOU. I TOLD YOU HE WAS ALIVE!!!"

Oo long chapter. also don't mind me while I enjoy the moment of my fanfic finally getting exciting.
