Will got me some clothes, an orange T, some jeans and an aviator jacket which he said was his boyfriends. I wasn't complaining, it was bloody cold outside. Together we sat outside the infirmary, watching the sky get darker.
I could tell we were close to the sea, the air tasted like salt.
"Where are we?" I asked Will again."I know you said Camp-Half blood, but, where's that?"
"Ah, well, I assume Lars told you about the gods and whatnot?" I nodded. "Ok, well, Camp Half-Blood is a place for demigods to, well, be safe during the year and to train and stuff."
"Train for what?" I asked.
"I- well, I'll let Chiron go into the details, he's been waiting for you all day. In fact, we should wake up Lars, Chiron will want to see you both now."
With a half-asleep Lars we walked over to the big farm house I had seen before I passed out.
I was feeling a lot better now, less woozy, which really helped when I met Chiron.
On the lamp-lit porch sat two older men, standing, legs blocked by the porch but incredibly tall, long haired with a stern but calm face, the other plump and red-faced. They were playing some sort of game and from the looks of it the taller man was winning, and the other wasn't happy.
"Fine! Fine Chiron, win but just so you know as soon as my time is up the first thing I'm going to do is-" He trailed off when he saw the three of us.
"Ah, the unconscious one, pleased to see that you're awake." His face didn't look pleased.
The taller one spoke next, his voice old, calm and deep like the darkest depths of the ocean. "Calypso," he said, his voice washing a wave of complete serenity over me, "I think it's high time we talk," he turned to the other man, "it was nice winning, again" he chuckled.
Then we walked towards me. Like I said, lucky I was feeling less woozy. if I'd met him earlier I'm not sure I would have woken up.
Now, I'm sure you've heard of a Centaur. Well that is exactly what Chiron is. His top half was human, well dressed, his bottom half was sleek grey horse, intimidating in its strength and size.
Getting over my shock took a few seconds and it very quickly turned into awe. I'd always admired horses, never got to go near one though as my mum says I'm highly allergic. Weird that I was fine now, maybe Centaurs were different I thought. Yeah, you guessed it, I thought wrong. But more on that later. Our focus point now was the old Centaur.
Together we (walked? Trotted? Whats the universal term for this?) down to the dining hall, on the way he gave me a sort of half tour, saying that he would get a camper to properly show me tomorrow. Dinner had already ended when we got there, the campers were all sat around a campfire, so I ate in peace while Chiron and I talked.
First he asked me who I thought my father was. I told him no clue. Then he asked who my mother was. I told him, Aurora Nordaway. He pondered for a moment, looking as though he recognised the name. He shook his head slightly and moved on with the questions.
UMM ok wow this is my longest chapter, hope it was worth the wait lmao. Tbh im not sure about it, I wanna get to the action but, perfection takes time I guess.
