"So, Calypso, do you know where you are?"

Chiron's a funny man. Not really in a 'Ha Ha' way, more of a 'how on earth can someone questioning me make me feel so calm'. He has an energy about him that just reminds you of your grandpa, I mean, unless you hate your grandpa.

"Um, well, Will told me I'm at Camp thingy ma bob and I know I'm on Long Island, but other than that I'm not entirely sure." I must have sounded so dumb, at least I wasn't lying.

"Camp Half-Blood is a magical place, figuratively and literally. Here, we are protected by wonderful, ancient magic. Safe to train, learn and grow as people."

"Wh- What are we training for? Like, what's the magic protecting us from?"

"Calypso, do you know of your namesake?" I nodded. "Well, it stems from Greek Mythology. As does myself, and your father. Now, as I'm sure you know Greek Mythology definitely wasn't all good. Here we are protected from monsters, spirits, even gods."

I nodded again, not trusting myself to speak quite yet.

He carried on. "The campers here are not mere mortals as I'm sure you've already figured out." I hadn't. "They are what one calls Half-Bloods or, Demigods, hence the name 'Camp Half-Blood'. It means half god. Every camper here has a godly mother or father, wether it be a god of the main council such as Apollo, or a lesser god such as the great Hypnos. You, Calypso, are the daughter of a god, we just don't know which one."

Before I had time to think my words through they burst out. "Well why don't you know how do I find out" Once I had started the words kept coming. "Does this mean my brother is too, oh my is Des a god? wait what about my mum, does that mean she dated a god? What if I'm not maybe you made a mistake!"

Chiron put a hand on my shoulder while I buried my face into my hands, my face burning with shame, embarrassment, you name it.

"Calypso, you are meant to be here. If not, Lars would never have found you and you could never have entered this camp."

This calmed me a little.

"However, we have a dilemma, as you see, it turns out, you are not half human, your mother, in fact is not human at all."

This did the opposite of calming.

"And, well, I'll let her explain." he lifted his head and nodded towards the direction of the door behind me.

I turned around to see my mother, smiling at me with open arms. Except something was off, because last I checked, my mum wasn't blue.

Howdy. enjoy this chapter which was not fun to write cause I have no clue how to write Chiron 😃
