It was not that Park Saeroyi was a bad boss or a bad businessman. He was not only great at his job, but he also knew who he had to work with. One of the few reasons why DamBan got as far as it is today. He had that special ability to communicate with people easily. He somehow knew what he was doing. But mostly he had his crew who were good at their job as well. And he had Yi-Seo.

So when she was away for a week on a business trip to China, the company was kind of turned upside down. Everyone had different questions and everyone turned to Yi-Seo's assistant who then turned to Saeroyi. Since he didn't want to disturb Yi-Seo with silly questions he tried his best to answer all of them, even if he didn't have a clue.

On that day, when he saw through the window that Yi-Seo's assistant is coming in his direction again he felt a knot in his stomach. Not again! He was helpless. The assistant was already here and she was already speaking:

"Mr Park! Mr Lee needs a few documents from Mrs Jo's computer, but we don't have any access. What should we do?"

"It's alright. I'll call her and get the documents. Just write down which one you need."

As soon as the assistant was out of the room, Saeroyi grabbed his phone. He didn't want to call Yi-Seo before, she had a lot to do and there was the time difference too. Saeroyi was glad to not hear her confession for a few days, he had to find another strategy to tell her to stop because him telling her calmly wouldn't help. But now, that he had a good excuse to call her. This excuse was not personal, only business and he was only calling because of the company.

The truth was, that deep down he was glad that he could call her. He had missed her voice, her clever thoughts and since she was gone, there was no one to tell him that someone loved him for good. He had to admit that being told that he did everything right and that he may be loved was a good feeling. It didn't bother him that someone told him regularly that he was loved. The problem only that particular someone who confessed her feelings every day.

Because that particular someone was a young woman, who was ten years younger than him. That someone happened to be his partner, his friend. And he liked Soo-Ah, who happened to be not that particular someone. But even if he liked that someone, they were too different to work a relationship out. He was a calm fighter, only hit when his mind was out of control, he followed his heart, he was nice to everyone and he always helped. On the other hand, she was wild, fearless, she always said what was on her mind, she wasn't afraid to attack even if her victim was much older than her, she followed her instincts and she only was nice to people who deserved her respect. They were two different worlds. It wouldn't even work out.

At least that was what he told himself over and over again.

He pressed the screen on his phone to call Yi-Seo while he was walking towards her office. It was still clean even when she wasn't here. It was so much Yi-Seo like, even her smell was present, that even Saeroyi couldn't describe it.

"Hello?"

"Hi! Yi-Seo-Ah!" his voice was a little shaky. He was afraid that she would start again. He didn't want to hear her saying I love you again. If it wasn't for the document he hadn't called her.

"Sajangnim? Is everything okay?"

"Yes, I just need a document from your computer, but nobody knows the code. Could you tell me what it is?"

"Oh" he could feel the disappointment in her voice. His heart skipped a beat. Not again. That's why he didn't want to call her. Saeroyi wanted to avoid to make her feel sad. He should have let the assistant call.

"I thought you just called because you missed me" Bumm, she stabbed a sword into his stomach. "I guess I should not have high hopes, right?" Bumm, the next one. "The code for everything I own is your birthday." Bum, this hit even harder. Why is she doing this? Saeroyi had to take a deep breath. This girl just managed to make him feel guilty within a few seconds. And at the same time, this girl made his heart beat faster. His birthday was the code for everything she owned. Why and how? When?

"Alright I got it, thank you" he tried to keep his voice cool. But it was harder than he thought it would be. He took another deep breath. "Are you... are you... uh... I mean... How are you doing?"

He heard her giggle. He didn't admit it but he kind of missed her laughing.

"I am good thank you. Don't worry about me. I'll be back in a few days. You have a meeting in 5 minutes. Go. I love you."

She hung up. He couldn't tell her to stop again. He was amazed by how she knew that he had a meeting even when they were so far apart. And his birthday was her code. What does that mean?

For the rest of the day, he couldn't stop thinking about it. The code to everything she owned was his birthday.

So Yi-Seo was not only kidding when she said she was in love with him?
