Getting To Know You

Jo Yi-Seo had this amazing talent of having multiple passions and living all of them at the same time. On the list of passions were three main points:

Her job at IC.

Her life as an influencer.

Park Saeroyi.

Mysteriously, Yi-Seo managed to connect those three points. While working in her office or travelling from one restaurant to another, she was always taking pictures, uploading them on her social media, documenting her day and posting it on her social media stories. And Park Saeroyi... well he was always by her side.

He was aware of her passions, even though he was not sure he understood them. He didn't get what the big deal about social media was. He never saw the other side of it, only that Yi-Seo was talking to the phone, filming herself while doing nothing.

It happened on a sunny day in July. Saeroyi was on his way to the office, fresh out of the shower and feeling more alive than ever. He had a great morning, he went on a refreshing walk, took a shower and had a delicious breakfast. With a smile on his face, he was entering his company's building. His company. Saeroyi's mood became even better when thinking about IC if that was even possible.

Meanwhile, he stepped into the elevator. It wasn't full, it was still early in the morning, but Saeroyi had to get some papers ready for some meeting later that day.

In the elevator were already two women two-two holding big folders. Only their eyes were to see, their whole faces were covered by the giant portfolios. Saeroyi couldn't recognize the employees, but neither did the ladies, so after a quick greeting, he stood next to them silently while listening to the two women chatting.

"Have you seen the Chinese guy from the management department? Do you think I have a shot? He is kind of cute."

"Yes I have seen him, but I think you know better. I have talked a bit to him yesterday, he has a very bad attitude. But whatever, have you seen Director Jo's Instagram?"

This caught Saeroyi's attention. Of course, it did. Somehow every time he heard her name his scenes became sharp and he concentrated on the currently running conversation. He tried not to show it and he didn't want to turn to the ladies, but he was very nervous. What is coming now?

"No, not yet. Why?"

"She shot a short film with some models and singers for one of the companies about self-confidence. It is kind of cringe but they look so beautiful that it is nearly ridiculous who these beautiful women talk about not having self-confidence. Especially Direktor Jo. I mean she has got everything." The elevator stopped and the ladies stepped out of the elevator while continuing their conversation.

Saeroyi waited for the door to close. His office was not on that floor. He only managed the way to his office because his feet knew the way. His mind was somewhere far away.

Self-confidence. Yi-Seo. Social media.

Those three words were circling in his head. He suddenly felt the urge to see that video.

On that day he did some things he had never done before. First of all he closed his office's door. Then he started his computer and went on Instagram. He liked on her profile.

It was the latest entry. Saeroyi watched the short film amazed. That moment he understood what Yi-Seo was using her platform for. She was not a girl who was just posting pictures where she showed to much skin and she wrote captions that has nothing to do with the post. No, Yi-Seo was a woman who used her fame to help others and speak up on important issues.

Park Searoyi got lost in the Instagram profile. He kept scrolling down, clicked sometimes on a post and then kept on scrolling. On his way he came across pictures from her vacation last year, DanBam pictures, throwbacks from her time in New York, photos with her friends and many more. Including that one post.

That one post was that video. It was spontaneous and amateur, not something Yi-Seo would post. But while watching the video of young school girls bullying another helpless student, Saeroyi felt like he understood Yi-Seo better. They were not so different after all.
