I am now Nineteen years old. It has been a year since I saw Satoni. I haven't seen Kari since she dropped me off to Vain. Speaking of Vain, I haven't heard from him either. I closed my eyes and walked down the street. I shivered as the snow fell gently around me. The one thing that I loved about being here was the snow. It reminded me of New York.I sighed just thinking about it. I haven't been home and I hated it. I talked to friends and I lied to them and told them that I got accepted into another college. I smiled when I saw my house come into view. I worked at the nearby grocery store and I enjoyed it very much. I didn't have to work but it was something to do to kill the time. I wanted to live a normal life and that's exactly what I was doing. I walked up my front porch steps and smiled when I saw a bouquet of flowers sitting on my porch. I smiled and grabbed the card off the top. The flowers were from Vain. He would send me flowers once every few months. I enjoyed them and I tried to keep them alive for as long as I could. It was hard not hearing from him but it was nice to know that he was still thinking about me. I opened my front door and stepped in quickly. I shivered in delight when the warmth of my house hugged my body. It was nice to be home after a long day at the grocery store.
"ATHENA!"
I turned around quickly and frowned at Kari. She was running up my driveway in her snow boots. I laughed and shook my head holding the door open for her. I didn't like that she called me by my name but I was happy to know that she was here. She ran into my arms and hugged me tightly.
"GIRL! I GOT HERE AS QUICK AS I COULD! I MISSED YOU," she screamed pulling me into a hug.
I laughed, "my name is Dani."
She cursed under her breath, "fuck. Sorry...Dani." She winked giggling.
I laughed closing the door behind her. She shivered and started to remove her shoes and coat quickly. "Ohh it's so toasty in here. I love it! Come on bae, show me the place."
I took off my shoes and grabbed her hand pulling her through the house. It was nice to see her after all this time. She kept telling me that she was coming to visit but then she wouldn't. I know that she was doing it to protect me though. I showed her the downstairs and then we made our way upstairs. She was excited about my house and she kept pointing out all the paintings that she loved.
