What's wrong with Ryu?

Honestly the plot of the dungeon mission, is to common and boring so we are going to skip that

Liz, and Tsukino have came back from their part of the mission. The other's should be meeting the Black bulls and Golden dawn group by now. Hopefully they would be able to come back uninjured.

I was doing paperwork, with my younger brother playing around on the couch. "Lady Alpha" Marx spoke, and appeared out of no where AGAIN. "Y-yes what is it Marx?" I said, a bit unstable from the jump scare. My brother had it worse, he was as pale as a ghost. "The decorating ceremony is being hosted in a week from now, are you going to be able to make it?" Marx announced. I checked my schedule, nothing to do on Tuesday I guess I could make it.. "Yep, I'll be coming with the others" I replied. "Good be here on Tuesday with Ryu, Tsukino, and Mizuko" Then he left. 

"Are you ok?" I asked my younger brother, he was still shaken up about the surprise visit from Marx. At least alert us when your coming! He nodded and got up from the couch "Nee-Chan, I'm going to the city" He said. "Alright don't get lost" and with that Ryu summoned his summoning (Albino Dragon), then left. 

Ryu has been a bit jumpy lately, it's almost like somebody is threatening him. Whenever I was talking to him, he seemed very tense. There was also a time where I went to bid him a good night, as soon as I entered the room he attacked me. 

*Flashback to two day's ago* 

Ryu knew I was busy, but he always tried to find a time to stay with me. I'm a very busy person, with all my squad work and all. So I decided to at least bid him a good night, just like the time's before I became a magic knight. 

Walking down the hallway and finally reaching my brother's room in the boy's part of the building. Some of the other's greeted me before leaving to sleep, which I of course returned. 

"Good night everyone" I waved tiredly. My hand reached for the doorknob and it slowly turned, Unlocked huh.. Maybe he was expecting me! 

'Click'

The door opened slowly, "Hey Ryu, I know we haven't been able to-" I was cut off by a spell being shot at me. It grazed my shoulder "Ryu?" I questioned, why did he attack me? He hesitated to answer. "A-ah, N-nee Chan I was p-practicing m-my magic" He stuttered. That was a lie, he would never hesitate or stutter to give an answer even if he does something wrong. Plus Ryu know's better then to practice inside, he could break something or injure himself.

"I'm so sorry!" He put his hand's up in defense, as if I was about to.. hurt him? I grabbed his arm softly as he winced at my touch. "What is going on with you today..?" Ryu stared at me with sad eyes, pulling his arm away then hop's into bed. "Just forget anything even happened.." He pulled the cover over himself. 

*End of flashback*

Is he scared of me? I thought.

Alright today we will be spying on Ryu.. hopefully nothing goes wrong today. There was a knock on my door. "Enter" I said. The door opened to reveal Y/N, "Lady Alpha" She greeted slightly bowing, "You came because?" I questioned. "The rookies have came back from their mission, and are gravely injured." I was shocked from this statement, "what happened to them?" I questioned. "Apparently it seem's like the Diamond kingdom attacked them." She responded calmly. 

"Right.." I went back to thinking of why would Ryu be acting weird, what happened to him, does he not trust me anymore? I dropped my head down and folded my arms around it. "Is everything ok?" Y/n asked. "Yeah I'm fine, just a bit tired." I yawned, she knew something was wrong but didn't push it. She then left

.. Welp operation spy on Ryu was a fail, I really want to go find out.. but duty calls.

A/N

I know this was a short chapter, this was basically a foreshadow of an event in the future. So I didn't want to add to much detail into it. I also have a new book, its a Naruto Modern Au. There aren't many Modern Naruto storys, so i just wanted to give it my best shot.
