Chapter 10: Friends with someone like you

Eren's POV:

I felt my eyes slowly dropdown. Mr. Pyxis was literally reading a book for me so that the minutes would go by faster for the next period. I don't even know why I'm here anymore. It was so awkward at first when Mikasa left both of us didn't even say a word.

Damn her to hell.

I honestly thought Mr. P was gonna give me a shitty ice packet and tell me to rest on my head and for a few minutes and then leave. But, no instead he's reading to me a chapter book while I lay down and 'rest'. Though I will admit that it was sweet that he was willing to read a book for me so I can sleep. The odd thing was that the reading strategy was working cause I can feel my eyes drooping for every few words he read.

I felt my eyes fully close until I heard a giant slam came from the doorway. "MR. PYXIS" Someone shouted there voice filled with anxiousness.

"Oh... Hangi?... and...Levi?"

"Hello, Mr. Pyxis can you please examine Levi. He collapsed in gym class today and can you please just check him out." a girl said.

"Oh, dear. You can lay him down on the bed next to Eren's"

I saw a girl with dark brown hair and glasses stand right in front of me. She quickly let Levi down on the bed beside me.

"Thanks, shitty glasses" He mumbled, His voice sounding weary. "Your welcome shorty, As long as your ok I'm ok."

" Levi no cussing." Mr. Pyxis said.

" Oh, it's fine he talks to me like that all the time. It's gotten to the point where I'm used to it." she smiled. " Anyway, bye tinker bell, get well soon." The girl winked as she began to step out of the nurse's office.

" T-tinker bell?"

" I called you that because your practically the same size as her you shortcake."

" I may be a bit small for the average male but your nicknames go too far sometimes you window face."

 "I would love to talk to you more Reese's pieces but I got to go... bye" The girl shouted leaving the room.

After a while, Mr. Pyxis came over to check Levi asking him questions if his body hurt anywhere or anything. They just had their only little conversation until the phone in the nurse's office finally ringed. That's when Mr. Pyxis stood up from Levi and went to go grab the phone. In an instant, the room was very silent. the only person who was talking was Mr. Pyxis because he was on the phone with the office. I looked to my side and saw Levi. He was facing the wall not willing to show his face. He had gym shorts on and a light peach sweater. I'm guessing he has the sweater because it's freezing outside.

A few minutes passed again and Mr. Pyxis came over and pulled Levi out in the hall. I was left alone sitting in the nurse's office. I'm guessing he wanted to have a private conversation with Levi not wanting me to overhear.

after a minimum of five minutes past, Levi opened the door with Mr. Pyxis following behind him.  I actually got a clear view of his face. He looked so weary and drowsy. He had obvious circles under his eyes which must have meant he hasn't slept good last night.

The raven-haired retreated back to the infirmary bed. Once again, he lied down in the same position with his back facing me.

"Is that really true... Ok... Yes... I'll be there" Mr. Pyxis whispered into the phone before hanging up. "Okay boys I'm sorry but, I have to get going. You two just wait here and if the bell rings Eren you can go to your next period but Levi you are going to have to stay with me for a bit." Mr. Pyxis announced to us. Mr. Pyxis exited the room in a hurry, leaving me and Levi alone.
