Mila's POV

The next week went by pretty quietly, nothing really happened except for Kat's leaked sex video. I'm honestly so glad that no one ever leaked me but to be honest in today's society most of the people had their tapes leaked early in highschool.

"Mila, you coming to practice today?", Cassie asked as we entered the schools' hallways. "Yeah of course", I smiled.

My cheering already got a lot better since Cassie practiced a lot with me during the weekend.

Our ways separated and I went into my history class which I had with Kat. I sat down next to her with a grin.

"What are you grinning about?", she asked looking different, she was wearing darker more offending clothes than usual. "You look absolutely hot".

"Thanks, bitch, I fucking feel hot", she smiled as she unplucked one of her AirPods. I got my stuff out and glanced at my phone quickly and saw there was a message from an unknown number.

Unknown 10:20 AM

Hey Mila it's Nate, you free tonight?

I frowned at my phone, Nate and I hadn't really talked since he took me home from the gas station last week.

"What you frowning at?", Kat asked glancing at my phone. "Nate Jacobs?", she asked confused. "Trust me I'm confused as well", I answered.

Mila to Nate 10:22 AM

Hey I have cheer later but after that, I think I'm free

Nate to Mila 10:23 AM

Good, let's grab some food maybe?

Mila to Nate 10:24 AM

Sure but I'll text you later

I shut my phone and put it back in my backpack. Why does this boy that could have literally everyone wants to hang with me out of all people?

"You're gonna hang with him?", Kat asked both her AirPods gone now. "I guess, I wanna see what he wants", I explained opening my notes.

"Do you think I should tell Maddy?"

"Yeah but not yet you don't even know what he wants but honestly I think she doesn't care", Kat smiled at me as the teacher started the class.

After my history lesson, I met Cassie by her locker. I know it might sound silly but I needed some advice from my cousin.

"Hey Mila", she smiled putting away some books. "Hey Cas, Nate asked if we wanted to get food after practice", I told her.

"Nate what? Do you want to?", she asked, god she's always so sweet. "I said I'd text him later I mean he seems nice to me but should I tell Maddy? Like I don't wanna ruin our friendship over a stupid boy".

"I would definitely tell her", Cassie confirmed and closed her locker. I sighed knowing she was right, not one single boy on this earth is worth a friendship and even if Nate just wants to hang as friends I don't want Maddy to think I snitched her.

"Okay I'm gonna talk to her", I told Cassie and walked towards my next class which I actually shared with Maddy.

"Hey bitch", she smiled as I approached her. "Hey, can I talk to you for a second?", I asked my heart already racing. Maddy might be small but she could be terrifying.

"What up?", she asked clearly confused. "Okay so I need to tell you something because I don't want you to think that I'm going behind your back or-", I began to talk nonsense.

"Mi stop just tell me", she chuckled. "So uhm before I even knew you really at McKay's party Nate kissed me and I didn't really return it but still and we talked about it because he was being rude. Well, he asked me if I wanted to get some food later with him but I wanted to tell you because if you say you don't want that I would totally not go", I blurted out.

"Oh damn", Maddy said looking at me for a second before taking my hands in hers, "Look Nate and I have a rough past and I am actually dating Tyler. If you want to you can do whatever you want with him but I am warning you as your friend. Nate is toxic and abusive, he might seem nice but that can change in seconds".

"So you're not mad at me?", I asked still in some sort of shock. "No of course not, you told me and I'm telling you that you can do whatever with him I'm over him", she smiled.

"So you and Tyler are dating?", I smiled changing the subject as we walked into class.

"Mila you ready?", Nate asked as I walked out of the gym. "Sure let's go", I smiled as we got in his truck.

He started it and we drove to this local fast food place and ordered through the drive-in. "How is cheer going? I saw you moved into front row", Nate smiled as he parked the car.

"It's good, Cassie and I trained all weekend so I would get the choreo", I smiled as we both got our food out. "How's football?"

"It's football you know, I only do it for my dad and college", Nate explained biting into his burger. "What really?"

"Yeah, he always puts so much pressure on me to win and to work my ass off for it. I guess it's the best opportunity to get into elite colleges", he said. "True but I heard you're really good".

After some time the awkward conversation stopped and we actually started talking more chill about different things, like the upcoming carnival or all the party's he's been at.

"No way, you were sleeping on a pool?", I laughed. "Yeah it was so cold but since I was so wasted I didn't care at all", Nate chuckled.

"Speaking of parties, the football team is throwing a party this weekend. You wanna come? Of course, your girls are also invited", Nate asked turning his head to look at me.

"I'd love to come", I smiled back at him.

We stopped talking and just looking at each other, was this the moment? I couldn't rip my eyes from his and I felt like he felt the same.

Nate started leaning in and placed his hand on my cheek before connecting our lips. The kiss was sweet and not rough at all.

It didn't last too long but a little bit. We pulled away and he smiled at me, "You're beautiful". "Thanks", I smiled blushing a little.

He then brought me home, before I got out he gave me a little kiss and I thanked him for the ride and the food.

Did that really just happen?

As I expected Cassie was already waiting for me by the door. "I see something happened you're all blushy", she chuckled pulling me in and literally questioned me like a police officer.

"But don't tell anyone okay? I don't want to make a big deal out of it", I asked her with puppy eyes. "Of course not it's just a kiss right?", she asked just to make me feel better. "Yeah definetely".
