7. "You suck"

Nate's POV

After I took Mila home and came back to my house I got a little more ready before it was time for family dinner.

"So Nate are you prepared for the game?", my dad asked. He was always a douche, he tried pushing me to my limits and making me seem perfect but I wasn't. The pressure he would put on me made me go so insane.

"I am, we trained almost every night last week and next week it's gonna be the same so we're all set up in two weeks", I explained taking a bite of the food.

"I don't want any distractions you need to focus son, there will be college scouts at the games", my dad explained to me. As usual, it was just us two talking, my brother Aaron and my mother kept quiet and enjoyed their food.

"I'm never distracted", I muttered, when I was with Maddy still, he would say that she was distracting me. In fact they never really liked her.

"What about Maddy? She is a big distraction your guys' relationship is so toxic and nerve-wracking", he said.

"Maddy and I are done for good", I told him this topic making my anger rise slightly. I know that I was getting to know Mila but I still had some feelings for Maddy and sometimes I miss her but it was history.

"Are you sure about that son?". "Yes Cal, he had this really sweet girl over today, what was her name again. Malin or Mila?", my mother asked. So I was right, Mila did make a good impression on her.

"Oh so you have a new distraction", my father mumbled. "She isn't a distraction, she's on the cheer team and one of our best students", I said defending this little brown-haired girl.

"She really did seem nice Cal".

"You should bring her over for dinner, I'd be happy to meet her then", my dad said and I knew he was just trying to figure out what type of girl Mila was.

"I'll ask her", I mumbled as I kept on eating. "Ask her for Wednesday, then I can cook something nice", my mom smiled.

"Alright".

The day went by and I had finally decided what I would take Mila to. Just some good old-fashioned bowling date.

Nate to Mila<3 1:34 PM

I'm gonna pick you up at 7, we're going bowling

I got into the shower and quickly washed my body after I just finished a quick little workout. After my shower, I got dressed in some boxers and sat down on my bed, time for some work.

If you're asking yourself what I mean, it was texting Jules. Not like you think I would but I had a plan. She doesn't know who I was, I pretended to be some guy named Tyler on this app called Grindr.

We were texting for a couple of days already, I just needed to gain her trust before she'll meet me at the carnival in two weeks.

If you're still confused let me tell you about a little secret. My dad likes to fuck trans people but not the ones that are completely women already. I think he's lowkey gay and that makes me angry.

He fucked Jules and I found the tape where he recorded it all. It disgusts me knowing my own all-too-perfect father was fucking underage kids, people I personally know. If Jules would ever tell anyone about this he could go to jail or even worse.

I don't fucking care how sick this might sound but family is everything. Family before anything and I would not let some new girl ruin this for us.

After some time of us texting, it was time for me to get ready for my date. I was so close to making Mila mine and I wouldn't stop for anything. She was what I wanted, if anyone ever touched her I'd murder him.

I decided to go with some jeans and a casual polo shirt. I applied my perfume and aftershave before heading downstairs.

"Bye mom", I said kissing my mom on her cheek before heading. "Have fun honey", she smiled.

I got in my truck and started driving to the gas station where I would get some snacks just in case. After that, I went to the floral shop to get some nice flowers.

I know I was an asshole but I could also be a gentleman.

When I got to the Howard's house I got out and rang the bell, trust me I mean it when I say I could be a gentleman and that includes saying hey to her aunt.

"Hello handsome man I bet you're the date my Mila told me about", the aunt smiled leaning against the doorway.

"Exactly I'm Nate, nice to meet you Miss Howard", I smiled shaking her hand. "Nice to meet you too. I bet Mila will be down here any second", she smiled.

We did some small talk you know the usual shit until Mila came downstairs clearly rushing due to her not noticing me at first.

"Oh my god, hey", she smiled and greeted me. I kissed her quickly and handed her the flowers making a blush creep on her cheeks.

She was wearing perfect fitting black jeans with a pink crop top and a pink cardigan on top. I loved the way she dressed, so feminine.

"Are you ready?", I asked her and she just nodded. "Can you put them in some water?", she asked her aunt. "Sure honey, now have fun you two but not too much", her aunt smirked and gave me a warning look.

Mila and I then went to the bowling place. The entire car filled up with her flowery scent and I loved it.

We started playing and I had to admit she was kicking my ass for sure. "You suck", she laughed after scoring a strike once more.

"Sorry I can't be perfect at everything", I chuckled putting my hands up in defense. "Boo-ho", she laughed again making fun of me.

As she went in for another try I picked her up making her lose this time. "Nate", she laughed. I let her down again and pulled her closer. She wrapped her arms around my neck standing on her tippy toes due to our big high difference.

I placed my lips onto hers that were as soft as always.

We finished our round of bowling and made it back to my car. "I didn't think you were this good at bowling", I chuckled putting my seat belt on. "I'm good at many things you don't know", she smirked clearly flirting with me.

Something about her confidence made me crazy, she was a tease but with such ease.

We drove back to her house and parked on the other side of the street. "Thank you this was by far one of the best dates I've been to in my entire life", she smiled.

"I'm glad to hear that but I can only give this compliment back. I like being around you a lot", I said and this time I actually meant it when I said stuff like this to Maddy it was only half the truth.

Mila looked at me smiling. "You know my mom asked me to ask you if you want to come over for dinner on Wednesday?", I asked and my heat pace actually picked up. I was nervous?

"I'd love to", she smiled. "Glad to hear. So my parents are gonna ask me what we are so I wanna ask you if you want to make things official and become my girlfriend?", I asked.

I could see Mila's eyes lit up a little, "I'd love to".

I bit my lip before pulling her into a kiss. This time it felt different. Never have I ever felt this way during a kiss, the adrenaline rushed through my veins and I never wanted to stop feeling her touch.

We deepened the kiss even more, this actually could work out pretty well.
