17. "You're officially dead to me"

Nate's POV (skip back to last chapter)

I made it to the motel room already nervous why Mila wanted to talk to me. I hope she didn't hear any rumors or some shit.

While looking at myself and fixing everything up I heard a knock on the door. Why was she so early?

I opened the door my heart racing but to my disappointment, it was only Maddy. "What the fuck do you want here?", I asked her as she just walked in. "You know, I think we need to talk", she said sitting down on the bed.

"Maddy not right now. Mila is coming over, my girlfriend", I said annoyed. "Nate, don't you think that breaking up was a mistake? I miss you. I miss us", Maddy started saying.

"Maddy please, you know that you will always be important to me but not like this. I am so happy with Mila and I don't want you anymore", I told her. It was the first time I really told her that I was over her.

"Nate please, we have such a long history", Maddy insisted. "Maddy please you need to leave", I sighed pointing to the door.

Maddy got up from the bed and came up to me, "You know that you still love me", she whispered before attaching our lips together. For some reason, I kissed her back and we actually kept kissing for a few seconds before I pushed her off of me.

"Maddy no, this is wrong. You have a boyfriend and I have Mila. Fuck, I love her so much", I said getting frustrated. "You what? you love her? Are you fucking dumb?", Maddy laughed.

"Maddy get the fuck out". "I'm sure you love her after what a month?", she yelled as she walked out.

Maddy's eyes focused on something for way too long. I decided to stick my head out and it was Mila who was just staring at Maddy and I. "I see you're at Kat's", she snapped at Maddy and ran off.

After our argument, Mila drove off leaving me standing in the pouring rain. "See now you're single", Maddy smirked but I just shook my head.

"You're officially dead to me", I snapped walking back to the room to get my stuff.

I quickly called McKay knowing Cassie was over at his place.

"What's up man?", he asked. "Is Cassie with you?", I asked my voice still shaky. "Yeah, she's here why?", "Listen, Mila and I just had the biggest argument I think we broke up. She was so sad I'm scared she's gonna do something stupid", I explained.

"I'm gonna tell Cassie and then we're gonna look for her", McKay said before he hung up. I was so glad that McKay actually liked Mila so I knew he would help Cassie find her.

After I took the key back I made my way back home and laid down on my bed.

I couldn't even think about anything else but the argument and how broken Mila looked. I know I hurt her, I know it wasn't the first time but how could I ever make it up again.

It was wrong kissing Maddy back and even letting her in the room. It was also wrong physically hurting Mila, she didn't deserve this. She deserves the fucking world and I just ruined it all.

A light knock appeared on my door and my dad came in. "The police just called, you can go back to school next week after Halloween", he explained.

"Okay", I muttered. "What's wrong son?", my father asked closing the door. I know he is a disgusting piece of shit but he had his life together, he had always given me the best advice.

"Mila and I had an argument and I don't know how to fix it", I explained. My dad sighed and sat down on the edge of my bed looking at me.

"What happened Nate?", he clearly liked her, if it was Maddy who I would have just broken up with he would celebrate.

"We met a couple of times in the motel. I love her dad, I couldn't stand not being there for her in such a difficult time. We wanted to meet today but Maddy came before her because she wanted to fix stuff with me but I said no. She kissed me and I returned it, fuck I'm so stupid. Mila thinks we hooked up and now we're broken up I think", I explained.

"Nate, listen. I really like Mila, she is a good influence and exactly what you need. You will get her back just give her some time to think alright. What have I taught you? Do anything gentleman like and show her that you care", my dad smiled and got off.

That's the thing, my dad would never really talk with me but when he cares for something he does talk to me.

The next two days I decided to leave Mila alone completely but when Sunday rolled around it was time to start getting her back.

I started by sending her a bouquet of flowers. They were her favorite and I knew she would love them, I know it wasn't going to make everything perfect again but it could help.

That night I even texted her. I needed her to miss me so I could get her back by Halloween, I couldn't stand the thought of going into school without her being by my side.

The next day I was driving to the school and this might sound creepy and stalker-like but I knew when she had sports class.

I parked my car in a spot where I could watch her do sports and it felt good knowing I was still there for her, knowing she couldn't get hurt now.
