Chapter Fifty-Three: Alex

After discovering her true name, Alex spent the rest of the day searching through the files that the Triumvirate had in regards to the Silver Claw pack. She discovered that her parent's names were Liam and Macy Rhodes. They both died defending their pack and daughter. Alex didn't find out who the wolf was that rescued her. Reina theorized that must have been a trusted pack member who tried to flee with her before succumbing to their wounds.

"Do you want us to change your official name to Alexandra Rhodes?" Reina asked in the middle of their research. Alex paused a moment; her face was deep in thought.

"I think so, but I would like to keep Xander in there somewhere. Maybe as my middle name? Alexandra Xander Rhodes."

Reina nodded in agreement before making a note. Finally, late into the night Dana managed to convince Alex to go to bed. Reminding her that she had her first training session in the morning. Reina and Alex were going to lead the raid on the Royal Blood Pack as their first mission together.

The next morning Alex woke up to the blaring of their alarm. Reina who was closest to the nightstand turned it off before gently kissing Alex.

"Ready for your first mission training?" She whispered as Dana was still sleeping.

"Yeah, if I can even get up," Alex murmured staring at the sleeping girl curled into her arms. Reina just grinned before grabbing the pillow she had been using and placing on Dana who immediately grabbed it and rolled over hugging the pillow tightly. "Traitor," Alex teased lightly as she slid out of the bed.

As soon as they were dressed, Reina led Alex down to where the leader of the Alpha squad awaited. Dana would not be going on the raid and so didn't need to join them for this mission. When they arrived at the room where the meeting would take place, Reina gently stopped Alex by resting a hand on her arm.

"Real quick before we go in there you should know that the Alpha Squad leader uses, they/them pronouns and is Scarlett's older sibling. Their name is Zee Knight."

Alex nodded in acknowledgement before following her mate into the room. In the center of the room looking at a map was a tall androgynous figure and to their side, to the surprise of Alex and Reina, was Scarlett Knight. Alex really hadn't seen Scarlett that often since the fight. They met occasionally but Alex had been too busy to really deal with her second.

"Scarlett? What are you doing here?" Reina asked.

"As the second to the Warrior Princess, Scarlett is automatically assigned to any mission that the Princess goes on," Zee explained.

"I would've gladly joined anyway," Scarlett spoke up hesitantly looking toward Alex. "I know we haven't had much of an opportunity to get to know one another but please know that I am determined to be the best second to you that I can be."

Alex nodded, "well I guess now is the best time to prove it. We have a lot of work to do if we're going to save my friend and liberate the remnants of the Silver Claw pack from Markus Storm."

"Your pack," Reina said softly holding Alex's hand.

Alex took a deep breath, "my pack. Let's get planning.

Just a small filler chapter. This story will end at Chapter 55 which will come out next Saturday but I wouldn't mind doing something special for Christmas. So what would people be interested in seeing? My main idea is another Q&A but I'm open to suggestions.
