Chapter Fifty-Five: Alex

The day had finally arrived. They were going to raid the former Silver Claw pack lands and capture or kill Markus Storm. As well as rescue any and all innocents he imprisoned. Alex adjusted her jacket and gloves whilst observing the gathered Alpha squad. Reina was a small distance away talking to her parents finalizing the final plans. Dana rushed out of the mansion, after grabbing Reina by the arm she dragged her over to where Alex was standing.

"Dude!" Reina objected. "I was talking to my mom." Dana let her go and glared at both of her mates, though the effect was more like an angry puppy.

"I wanted to talk to you two," she said firmly whilst scowling.

"What's up," Alex asked looking concerned.

"If neither you two return back to me to safe and sound there won't be any sex for the rest of your life..."

Alex barely suppressed a snort laughter; however, Reina wasn't so lucky. She let out a loud laugh causing Dana to smack her arm and glare at her.

"Sorry, D," Reina said between bouts of laughter. Alex rolled her eyes and embraced her smaller mate.

"We'll be back," she murmured softly placing a kiss on Dana's lips.

"We will be, te lo prometo," Reina said softly, getting over her laughter and kissing her smaller mate.

Dana groaned softly, "I hate that I have to stay behind while you two are heading into danger."

"You're needing to here to help organize for the influx of injured that will be coming back," Alex pointed out gently. "Reina and I will have each other's backs. We will come back. The Royal Blood Pack will be no more." Reina nodded in agreement, just as Zee approached them followed by their younger sibling.

"Your highnesses, we're ready to head out," Zee said inclining their head towards the trio. Reina acknowledge them with a nod and stepped away from her mates. Whom flanked as she turned toward the fifty assembled members of the Alpha Squad, she took a deep breath.

"Alpha Squad we are here because a false pack calling themselves the Royal Blood Pack have overtaken the former Silver Claw Pack and using it as a base to kidnap and torture rogues. They once imprisoned your Warrior Princess Alexandra Rhodes, former Alpha heir of the Silver Claw pack. They currently are imprisoning an unknown number of rogues and loners. Today we going to rescue them! No wolf left behind!" Reina ended her brief speech to a cheer from the Alpha Squad. After placing a hand on Dana's shoulder, she turned back to group and ordered, "Now let's head out!"

With that Reina shifted into Dido with Alex and the rest of the Alpha Squad following suit. Once everyone had shifted Dido let out a long howl before racing towards the Silver Claw pack. Xandara on her heels.

A couple hours later the squad arrived at their staging point. Where a pair of scouts were waiting. Slowing to stop, Dido shifted back into Reina. Alex and Zee shifted back as well while the rest of the squad took a breather before the battle.

"Status report," Reina ordered. The first scout stepped forward and spoke.

"Your highness, we've been observing the Royal Blood pack for the last week. We have determined that there is around fifty members of the pack, however, there only seems to be about forty members who are in fighting shape. The false Alpha of Markus Storm has called an assembly that will begin in about thirty minutes."

"Will probably be an execution," Alex said grimly. "That's what happened when I was...here." Reina placed a hand on her mate, Alex took a deep breath.

"Good work," Reina said, "Make sure our path back remains clear. Then guide the vehicles in once we've secured the pack grounds." After the scouts bowed in acknowledgement. Reina turned to the others, "You guys clear on the plan?"

Alex nodded, "Zee and Scarlett will each take twenty soldiers and envelop the pack gathering in a pincher movement. While Reina and I will take the remaining ten to secure the packhouse and find and free the prisoners."

Zee and Scarlet, who had shifted back into human form as well, bowed before gathering their soldiers. Ten minutes later the three groups where ready to head out, all had returned to their wolf forms except for Reina who glanced at her watch.

"Timer for twenty minutes starts now. Complete silence begins now as well," she said mind-linking the assembled group. "Remember, we don't know who has joined Storm willingly or not. Avoid killing unless it is absolutely necessary. Try to incapacitate or imprison first." Upon receiving an influx of acknowledgments from the squad; Reina ordered them to get into positions. Shifting back into Dido, she lead her own group forward.

Fifteen minutes later, the Alpha Squad surround the clearing in which the Royal Blood Pack was assembled in.

"Hold your positions," Reina ordered as Markus Storm came out of the packhouse followed by two guards dragging a struggling Lei between them. Markus strolled onto a rough wooden stage and greeted the silent crowd with a smile.

"Rejoice," he cried. "For I have found our lost little traitor Lei. You may recall that years ago this poor disillusion omega, ran away with a corrupting rogue wolf. But now she has been returned to us..."

"No, I wasn't!" Lei cried. "You kidnapped me while my mate was away!"

Markus continued on as though he hadn't just been interrupted, "Unfortunately as you can see this omega has been thoroughly corrupted. And it is with great sadness that I must send her to meet our glorious Moon goddess." Markus pulled a gun and just as Reina ordered the squad to attack a bolt of lightning appeared and struck the ground between Markus and Lei. The false Alpha looked heavenward and cried out, "my goddess?!"

"Think again asshole," Daisy Whiterose shouted as she flew into sight aiming again at Storm. Just barely missing him with another bolt of lightning.

Looking around and seeing the Alpha Squad approaching, Markus shouted, "great Royal Pack protect me!"

Zee shifted back into their human form. "Markus Storm, you are under arrest. Surround now and none will be harmed."

Markus looked briefly stunned. As if he couldn't believe members of the Royal Pack were not on his side. "Falseness!" He shouted. "You are imposters!"

"We're really not," Reina shouted deciding to shift back into her human form, abandoning the original plan. "I am Alpha Princess Reina Alvarez," her voice suddenly took on her Alpha tone, "all members of the Royal Blood pack are hereby ordered to surrender."

Over half of the assembled crowd cried out in relief and dropped to their knees placing their hands behind their heads. One woman even crying out.

"Thank the goddess! We're saved!"

"Treason," Markus shouted. "Kill them all!" Those who were loyal to him charged haphazardly toward the Alpha squad, including the guards holding Lei. Out of the corner of her eye, Alex saw Daisy swoop down and grab her mate. However, her focus was on Markus Storm. As he used the chaos to run back toward the house. Leaving Reina and the rest of the squad to deal with the Royal Blood Pack, Alex as Xandara chased after Storm. Tackling him as he ran outside the backdoor of the house. Tumbling to the ground Xandara was first to regain her footing and growled at the man who had imprisoned her. Who had taken her pack. Her family. Alex shifted back into human form glaring at the man. Markus's eyes widen in recognition.

"You! You're that rogue! You've returned in with those false pretenders."

"How fucking delusional are you?!" Alex growled, pulling out her weapon still in its block form. "You are the pretender."

"Lies," Storm snarled. "None will stand in the way of my glorious plan. Soon all rogues will be defeated. Starting with you." He still held a gun with which he fired twice. A slight ting echoed. Alex held her sword loosely in her right hand. Managing to deflect one of the bullets. The insane false alpha rose to his feet and began waving his arms. Alex transformed her sword into a knife.

"I was chosen to survive. My brother left me to die. But it was all part of the great and glorious plan to rid the world of rogues. The goddess herself told me! None will stand in the way of my glory. None may slay me without the permission of the great Triumvirate. For I am..." Alex interrupted his mad rant by approaching him and slitting his throat mid-sentence.

"Good thing I'm the Warrior Princess then," she told the corpse. Transforming her knife into a spear she drove it into his heart. Just to make sure.
