Threats Across Borders

Jackson is rudely awakened by a call from his second encrypted smartphone.
Jackson: "Ugh... Seriously? Right now?"
Commissioner Talvenger: "Hope you're up because we have a mission that you could help us with."
Jackson: "I can't. I have a company to run in the morning."
Taciana twists and turns in her sleep.
Jackson says in a hushed whisper.
Jackson: "Look... you need to understand I have a family to care for too. The idea of going on another rescue mission would make my wife worry too much."
Commissioner Talvenger: "I hear you Jackson, but the fate of this city is not just in our paws. It's in yours."
Jackson: "I will think about it in the morning."
Commissioner Talvenger: "Alright, but I hope you do come, Shadow Dhole. Because only you have power to help us stop Vakatarus's army."
Jackson: "Goodnight."
He hangs up his encrypted smartphone and wraps his arm around Taciana as he gets in another hour of sleep.
......One hour later......
Taciana: "Sweetheart? The sun's up."
Jackson yawns and sits up with his eyes half open.
Jackson: "Yeah. I'm up babe."
Taciana: "Were you talking to someone last night?"
Jackson: "It was nothing important. Just a call from the Commissioner."
Taciana: "About what?"
Jackson: "He said they had a mission for me regarding more potential attacks from Vakatarus's army."
Taciana: "Baby?"
Jackson: "I know what you're going to say, but it's my responsibility to do what's right and protect everyone."
Taciana: "Baby..."
Jackson: "And yes it might take time away from work a little bit, but I'll only take down crime after my shifts are over."
Taciana: "Jackson, calm down. I was going to say, that you should accept the mission."
Jackson: "Really? I'm surprised. I thought you'd be against it, given that you worry a lot."
Taciana: "Jacky, I will always be worried about you and where you go. That was part of what we talked about before we got married. However, you also made an unbreakable promise to me that day too. Remember?"
......Flashback to December 29, 5020......
Young Taciana: "I can't believe it! We are about to be married in two days! It will be so perfect!"
Young Jackson: "Yeah, it certainly will, Bunny Boo."
The pair tenderly nuzzle each another.
Young Taciana: "I want you make me a promise."
Young Jackson: "Like what?"
Young Taciana: "Promise me that you will never lose sight of who you are and to always do what's right in your heart."
Young Jackson: "On my honor as a dhole with his priorities straight. I promise."
Young Taciana: "Thank you my soon to be husband."
Young Jackson: (eye wink)
......Flashback Ends......
Jackson: "Oh yeah. You told me to do what's right with all my heart."
Taciana: "Exactly, cause are an amazing father to our kids and a hero to this world."
She leans in and kisses his lips.
Taciana: "Mmmwwah!"
Jackson: "Does this mean you trust me to come back?"
Taciana: "Yes. I trust you baby."
The pair go and freshen themselves up and have breakfast with their children.
Taciana: "Hon? Have the babies been fed yet?"
Jackson: "Not yet. Why?"
Taciana: "Could you help me feed them before leave out to work? I'm just finishing the dishes."
Jackson: "Sure, babe."
He and Taciana split the duty as their babies drink every drop of milk from their bottles.
......Fifteen minutes later......
They burp their children and change their diapers.
Taciana: "Thank you honey."
Jackson: "Anything to make it all run smoothly here, sweetheart."
He puts on his black tux and grabs his suitcases while entering his car.
Taciana: "Have a great day at work, Jacky!"
Jackson: "You too, babe!"
He drives off to work and completes all of his work early.
Jackson: "It's good to be a productive boss."
Nappine: "Um... sir. A miss Dalili is here."
Jackson: "Ahh, good. Send her in."
Valera: "Good morning, Mr. Tontione."
Jackson: "Have a seat."
Valera takes a seat near his desk.
Jackson: "Glad to see you returned. Me and the recruiting team have been taking and we agree that you are the right fit for one of our secretary positions."
Valera: "Really? Oh thank you Mr. Tontione!"
Jackson: "Here are the directions for how to get to orientation."
He hands her portable device to the review orientation modules.
Valera: "Excellent. Thank you, sir."
Jackson: "Welcome to the team of Tontione Enterprises."
......Nine hours and two minutes later......
Jackson packs up his suitcases and signs himself out before heading to his car.
Then his second smartphone goes off and he responds.
Jackson: "Yeah?"
Commissioner Talvenger: "Hey, we have a few leads on several muggings and robberies at three different locations. Do you accept the mission?"
Jackson then responds.
Jackson: "Yes. I accept. Send me your team's coordinates."
Commissioner Talvenger: "Alright, give me a moment."
He texts him the location info and Jackson swiftly changes into his Shadow Dhole suit. His voice modulator automatically turns on.
Shadow Dhole: "Seems like night shift just got started."
He states in a calm but deepened voice.
