"Dad I work today" it felt wired saying that as I shut his door I walked back upstairs stepping over the 8th step I slipped and fell down the stairs "owww that fucking hurt" my knee was throbbing I couldn't move it "daddd I can't move my leg" I wasn't crying yet my knee was slowly turning red "Cassie what happened" me and my sister warned about the broken step but he didn't care

4:30pm

Sitting in the er in a wheel chair waiting my turn was probably the most scariest part about my dad "Cassandra Shepard" I tall young male nurse was standing by the desk my dad pushed me up to the desk "my daughter feel down 8 steps and says she can't walk" the nurse started to smirk trying not to laugh "dad my knee hit the steps not any other part of my leg"

The nurse walked us to an empty room and wrote Shepard on a white board behind the door "I'm sorry you waited so long what brings you here today" I thought we had already to this man what happened I mumbled to my dad "she says she broke her leg and she can't walk" the nurse put on gloves and told me to pull up my pant sleeve "see it's red" I couldn't believe it my knee was now purple almost like a plum hot tears started to race down my checks

"Ok dad she might of broken a bone but we need an x-Ray" I wanted a doctor in here right this moment but I didn't want to be rude "where the doctor" he smiled so big the grinch would be jealous "im a intern today's my 5th week" oh great I thought some girl that thinks she yang from greys anatomy "dad can you tell I want a doctor" he didn't ask him for another doctor instead he wanted to slip in a dad joke "Cassie I don't know how you manage to fall the stairs after going up 8 steps" my face turned bright red anger started to fill my body

"We don't need a doctor sir can you just do the x-Ray" he laughed it off and walked out the room "dad I'm not even gonna care if I broke as long as I'm right about this" we sat there quickly 13 minutes later a older doctor walks in she has long brown curly hair "hi how are you guys I'm Avery"

I wanted to tell her about greys but she probably heard it a million times "my daughter thinks she broke her leg can you tell her she's just scared and it's fine" I frowned maybe my dad thinks I'm lying because I want attention but my leg really did hurt "doctor Avery i was running up the stairs and skipped a stair" I thought to myself maybe I shouldn't of drank last night

"Well mr Shepard can I get your signature for an X-ray" my dad got up grabbed the pen out of her hand glanced the paper sighed if I wanted to asked to see it but I kept quit "Cassie you ready for the X-ray" she started to pull me out the door "my leg really does hurt I'm just really high don't tell my dad" why is he laughing at me I thought to myself 2 more nurses walk up

"Delaney and Isabelle come here" they were at her side in seconds "I was here first laney" stop fighting take this girl to her X-ray her dad says she didn't break anything I couldn't hear what they were saying but doctor Avery was walking away and those 2 girls were walking towards me

"Hi Cassandra sorry we left you here the room right here" the door said room 333 x-ray I didn't why I felt scared but I did "could you step up there for me" lights were flashing in my face the girls start to agree but I can't hear or see them the door opens and they are bickering back and forth

"Hi I'm Isabelle but my friends call me belle and I hate it" she had the same name as Bella I wanted to say hi Isabelle is my leg broken instead I said something that wasn't mean "are my X-ray results in" she didn't respond I can feel the butterflies in my stomach but not from a guy from fear "um I'm afraid so the force of hit cracked you knee Cap" I knew I hit my kne my hard but not that hard "is that even possible I asked "yes there is a break but not in your knee cap she said with confidence

I know I could trust her even though she was still learning "could you please tell my dad"
As she is pushing me back to my room I noticed my room number was 21 "sorry mr Shepard but she will be in a cast and crutches starting today"

I wanted to cry I fought my tears and asked my dad "wait that means I gotta rest for few days right" my dad just looked at the doctor confused "I'm sorry Cassandra you" I started to get mad I didn't mean to say but words just came flying out my mouth

"First off call me cassie and second of this ruins everything I can't go to work today and for 4 weeks I'm stuck with this thing" I signed and asked if I my dad could get my phone "you and your dad can leave after we get your cast on your dad signs some papers"

12pm
Netflix is on and I'm eating cookie dough ice cream Ive been Wearing the same pjs since last night and my leg is killing me "oh come on why did you pick him" I yelled at the tv my sister was sitting on the couch next to me trying to cheer me "hey you wanna" Claire took a long pause "nevermind I was gonna ask if you wanted to go longboarding"

Not even 12 hours of me having a cast on I already wanna break this thing off "I toss my pain with my wishes in a wishing well" I wanted to sing along but I was to tired "Claire could you bring me my big blanket it's grey I'm going to sleep"
