Alexandra Walker P.O.V.

After Mr. Alessio Moretti left, nothing much happened the rest of the day. Monica received a call, so I got back to the windowsill and kept on reading the book I was still holding onto.

The kids who still got school were gone to school when I came out of her office so I was alone with Monica for most of the day. When everyone came back from school, most had heaps of homework to get done so Monica asked me if I could help them with it. Of course I agreed and helped everyone who needed my help. I'd do it for them which would have been a lot quicker but I couldn't do that to them, It wouldn't help anyone in the long run.

After dinner Monica sent us all to get ready for bed which is what I and everyone else is doing right now. Once I'm done in the bathroom I get inside the room and lay on the bed still fully dressed. I guessed it would be better if she thought I fell asleep on top of the covers reading than find me fully clothed beneath the bed sheets.

Today I had a few minutes between lunch and everyone swarming in from school to look up on the internet when I would get a bus to Miami. After looking for a few minutes I finally found out the last bus leaving for Miami is as ten fifty. That means I have to be by the bus terminal at half-past ten so I still manage to pay for the reservation and check my baggage in. To my luck, the last time Monica checks the rooms is at half-past nine and the girls here told me she normally goes straight to sleep, so if I leave here at ten I'll be there on time.

I wait for a while just reading the book but once I start to hear footsteps coming up the stairs I relax my body and try my hardest to slow my respiration down. I close my eyes and wait for Monica to open the door.

She slowly did and came inside the room to turn the night lamps off and tuck everyone in. One day I will come back here and thank her for the amazing person she is, maybe I can even donate some clothes for everyone. I feel her approach me, cover me with a thin blanket and take the book from beside me.

She brushed my hair back with her hand softly and murmured something that I didn't manage to get. With that, she walked out of the room carefully to not wake someone up and left the door open. I waited to hear her go to her room but instead of that I heard her go downstairs.

I take my travel bag forward from under the bed as quietly as I can. Looking around I realize everyone is still laying asleep, non the wiser of what I'm doing. I put my hoodie on to keep myself warm and to cover my face just in case someone see's me.

I get closer to the window to calculate if I would make it down in one piece. To my luck, a strong tree branch is near enough for me to get down in one piece. First I put my travel bag on my back and open the window as much as it allows me to. It would be easier without the bag but I need what I have in here so I'm out of luck.

My feet are dangling out of the window and a fall from up here wouldn't be fun, but I take a deep breath not allowing myself to think any further. I move fast and with every step calculated ahead.

In less than five minutes I am safely on the ground, but I don't allow myself to relax and run as fast as my feet can carry me. I don't slow down until I've reached downtown and I almost run into someone at the entry of a hotel but thank to my fast reflexes I still manage to avoid the person and keep going. What I wasn't counting on is whoever I almost hit to start chasing me calling my name.
