𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 ⅼⅼ ᴛᴀɴᴀᴋᴀ ʀʏᴜɴᴏꜱᴜᴋᴇ

❥ EIGHT : invitation

Invitations are given to people who will then be known to be guests in either someone's household or event. Invitations are usually given to those who the host wants to see during that time. 

Meaning that those who are there are important, or perhaps they're just there because the host wants to brag or boast about something. There are many reasons but for Tanaka Ryuunosuke, things definitely did not go his way. 

Especially since he wasn't the host of this chapter. 

The volleyball members were practicing and Coach Ukai scolding them for their mistakes like usual. Every thing was in their right order, Kageyama and Tsukishima bickering. Tanaka and Nishinoya fawning over a woman who doesn't like either of them.  Ivanna suddenly bursted through the doors with a mini fan and a plastic bag. "Hello!" She greets them with a cheerful smile.  

All the volleyball members and coach Ukai look startled but greeted her back. "Ivanna-san, what are you doing here?" Tanaka asks shocked to see her face. In the back of his head he though that his joking suggestion was made true. He previously joked about inviting her during their volleyball trainings. 

"Why? Can't I?" She says, putting down the bag. She took out some food, "Is it fine if you guys take a break first?" she asks looking at the coach. Ukai looked at his watch, "It's fine." He agrees.

Ivanna smiled brightly, "Brilliant."

Ivanna began handing out some food, briefly passing by Tanaka who was still feeling happy inside. Before digging in, Tanaka glanced at Ivanna who was talking to both Kageyama and Tsukishima.

"A milk carton fo you.. and a strawberry shortcake for you." she says handing the items separately. "Right, Ivanna you three seem close." Tanaka comments. Ivanna nods accordingly, "When I was younger, me, my brother and my best friend Ayato, would go to the Tsukishimas' to play. And in my first 2 years in middle school, I used to study in Kitagawa Daichi; where I met Kageyama." Ivanna explains. 

After she explained the reason and everyone took their sweet time enjoying their breaks. Chatting along with Ivanna who seemed to be on her leisurely using her time to be with them. 

"I don't mean to be mean or anything but Eli- Ivanna-san, why are you here?" Sugawara asks. Ivanna who was eating had to chew properly and swallow before answering. However Kiyoko who had been running late beat her to it. "I invited her." 

Kiyoko said, entering the gym with the materials like water and towels. "I'm sorry for being late." She apologizes to them, the team members shook their head as though they were telling her there was no need to apologize. 

"Shimizu-chan asked me to go here first in her stead as she was having troubles-"

"Troubles from where??" Nishoya asks eagerly, Tanaka and the others too looked eager to know. Kiyoko's eyes widened, shaking her hands. "It's alright. I've managed." Kiyoko then glanced at Ivanna, "Thank you." Ivanna grins, "Any time."

Tanaka shifted his balance from one foot to other feeling awkward though he wasn't the one who invited her. Still it felt off that her focus is not on him but to another. A sort of bubbling feeling arose in his chest and it wasn't a good type.

Tanaka admits that though he wasn't the one who invited her, he still felt a tinge of envy within. How the three got along just fine with Ivanna. He might have mentioned or rather blurted out that she should come to their practice but took in back a second later.

In all honesty he was delighted to see her, just not to the fact that her attention wasn't his. It seemed that she was growing closer to everyone else but him, especially Kiyoko who wasn't even in the conversation last week.  

If only he spoke of the truth, they'd know just how much he was starting to regret not knowing her sooner.
