Gaius was baffled by Edwin's ability to cure the Lady Morgana when he and Merlyn had been unable to identify what had been ailing her in the first place. He was positive that it was not a cerebral haemorrhage as in the days past, no blood had been found until Muriden went in to see her alone. Gaius mused as to the implications of this when he saw Edwin turn into the corridor up ahead, he hurried to catch up and maybe get some answers.

" Edwin. I want to offer you my congratulations."

" Thank you." He responded pausing a step so they could walk side by side.

" She was all but dead and you brought her back to life. How exactly did you do that?" Gaius asked directly, Edwin gave a coy smile.

" I have developed an elixir for the treatment of just such an ailment."

" I'd love to know the ingredients." Gaius pressed trying to get some answers.

" It is not yet perfected. You must give me more time before I make it public." Edwin said quickly causing Gaius's eyes to narrow.

" The injury to your face?" Gaius asked suddenly.

" It happened when I was very young." He replied with a bitter tone.

" Perhaps it was I that treated you for it." Gaius tried again knowing the injury was familiar.

" I told you before, we've never met." Edwin snapped coldly.

" Yes, of course. Well, I'll leave you to your work." Gaius halted letting the man disappear around the corner. He was positive he knew this man from somewhere and that 'somewhere' was the purge which solidified his suspicion that this man was a sorcerer, the name Muriden rang a bell but Gaius's memory wasn't what it used it be so he would have do some digging. Maybe he was wrong but it was worse if he was right, he turned around to head to the library when he jumped in shock at the twins standing silently behind him.

" By the gods! Do you want to give an old man a heart attack?" Gaius gasped as he clutched his racing heart.

" Sorry Grandpa, we found the flowers in town and they are connected to that man. I heard you were going to do some research, let us help." Rowan explained, Gaius perked up at the mention of the flowers.

" Well let's get going before he catches onto us." Gaius gestured and both boys lead ahead toward the library recounting quietly the tale of their quest to 'Golden Crown Flowers' and the information the woman was able to provide with a little persuasion. Gaius scolded them for such a dangerous use of magic in public but was still grateful for the intel. Gaius entered the Library first to see Geoffrey pouring over some old scrolls, at the door the old librarian looked up and smiled.

" Gaius!"

" Geoffrey. I'm here to ask a favour of you." Gaius spoke seriously.

" Well, anything for an old friend." Geoffrey smiled kindly waiting.

" I wish to see the court records from the time of the Great Purge." At this Geoffrey's face fell, worry-filled his eyes.

" What possible need can you have for those?" Gaius sighed not wanting to give the full story otherwise he'd be here till he was old and... never mind.

" I fear that the past may have come back to haunt us." Geoffrey raised a brow at this and looked even more troubled.

" All the more reason to keep the records hidden."  Geoffrey turned away ready to end the conversation but Gaius tried one last time.

" I know that neither of us wants to remember that time, but this is a matter of great urgency."

" The records are sealed, they cannot be opened. Uther has forbidden it." Geoffrey replied stubbornly.
