'Ferian æt gylden. Ic búgan þéos. Ferian æt gylden'
Merlyn gasped awake as she felt a powerful wave of magic flood the castle, she quickly looked over to see both twins awake looking just as startled. Merlyn flew out of bed and opened the large window leaning out into the late summer night, she spotted Arthur and his knights running down to the lower town. Merlyn turned to find both her children dressed and heading out the door so she quickly tugged on some trousers and boots before following them.
The magical trio snuck through the shadows in the lower town, aided of course by Rowan's gift of bending darkness to his command, they easily avoided the guards and caught up to Arthur quickly. They settled behind the wall of a house peeking out carefully; after a second Arthur kicked the door open to Tom's blacksmith workshop and the guards rushed in. A cloaked man fled and exited the back door with a few guards tailing him shouting for him to halt. Merlyn crept up to the workshop door and looked around to see Gwen's father Tom being held between two guards with Arthur standing over him holding a solid lump of gold.
"You're under arrest." Arthur ordered, Merlyn quickly backed up and dragged the twins behind some nearby barrels as Arthur and his guards marched Tom out of his workshop toward the castle.
"He's innocent." Rowan whispered watching the scene sadly.
"We need to tell Aunty Gwen." Arty said stepping out and heading for the house with Rowan and Merlyn in tow. Merlyn had to agree with her son; poor Gwen was going to be beside herself when she realised that her father had been arrested and damn it if Merlyn wasn't going to be there to support her.
---
Merlyn returned without the boys who were staying with Gwen to comfort her; as she stepped inside Gaius looked up startled to see Merlyn coming in looking exhausted.
"Can't sleep?"
"Something woke me." Merlyn mumbled looking disturbed.
"What?" Gaius asked raising a brow in concern.
"I don't know. A feeling."
"What kind of feeling?" Gaius pressed.
Merlyn shuttered before looking Gaius in the eye "Powerful magic, here, in Camelot."
---
Merlyn had gotten dressed for the day, though it's still the early hours and the sun had yet to rise because walking around without her bindings and in her nightshirt was going to probably cause a riot amongst the knights which in turn would have a jealous Prince growling at her for getting around indecently. Once dressed she went to Morgana's chambers where she had convinced Gwen to speak to the king's ward on her behalf, the twins were sitting either side of Gwen leaning into her comfortingly as she explained.
"They say he was making weapons for a sorcerer! They're charging him with treason!" Gwen sobbed as the boys rubbed her back gently. Morgana was looking like an avenging dark angel, her green eyes blazing with unholy fire and her lips set in a sneer as the anger rolled off her. Rowan's eyes kept flicking to Morgana filled with worry which Merlyn knew meant that she was probably mentally castrating the King or something along those lines.
Morgana looked up to Merlyn who was standing by the door and smirked. "Let's go to war ladies."
Merlyn grinned.
---
Merlyn was already wearied before her day had even started as she marched into Arthur's chambers alone and ripped the curtains open getting a very un-prince-like squeak as the light blinded him. Not in the mood for his shit that particular morning she ripped the blanket off onto the floor leaving him exposed on the bed with a startled yelp.
