A gem's birth

Prolouge: found

Steven POV:

The gems and I were in the prime kindergarten searching for a corrupted gem. We had to split up if we were going to find it before sundown, or as Garnet said "Steven's bedtime." We split up but Pearl insisted she came with me. Sometimes I do get tired of the gems treating me like a toddler, but they just want to make sure I'm safe, so I can't really blame them.

Pearl and I went left from the warp pad. I thought I saw something run past but I couldn't quite make it out, it was vibrant and very fast. Looked like it was floating but that was because it's thin legs were moving very fast.

Steven: "Pearl! I saw something! It was green, with some red dots on it!"

Pearl: "Like that one?"

3rd person:

Pearl pointed to the object Steven described. It was furry, green, with red splotches like someone waved a paintbrush at it. It had white ostrich like legs with black claws. And a green-red, square shaped gem where it's right eye was supposed to be. (Looks like the gem Steven and Peridot fought at the beta kindergarten except with a different color palette.)

Steven: "Yes that one!"

The monster was startled by the loud noise Steven made and ran of into the control room for the kindergarten.

Pearl: "After it!"

The duo rushed into the control room, and there was the corrupted gem clawing at the walls. Pearl summoned her spear from her gem as Steven did the same with his shield. The corrupted gem screeched at the two and charged at them. The two readied for an attack, but they saw two objects in the gem's mouth.

Steven: "What are those?"

Pearl: "Steven look out!"

Pearl 'gently' pushed Steven out of they of the corrupted gem's way, and stabbed it right in between the two objects it was carrying. The corrupted gem had poofed, and it's gem and the two objects dropped to the ground.

Steven: "What are these?"

Pearl bubbled the gem on the floor and tapped the top to send it to the bubble room in the temple. Garnet and Amethyst slid into the control room ready to fight only to see Pearl and Steven had already poofed, and bubbled the gem. Garnet spotted the two objects on the ground which appeared to be in bubbles just bigger than the objects.

Steven: "Hey Garnet,  Amethyst!"

Amethyst: "Hey Steven, looked like you got it under control?" The purple gem implied.

Pearl: "Yes and it wasn't hard. But I have no idea what these objects are!" She said with confusion.

Garnet: "These are geodes."

Steven: "What are those?" Steven said with amazed confusion.

Garnet: "Basically baby gem eggs." She said with a slight sternness in her voice.

Amethyst: "Baby gems?"

Steven: "I thought you guys said you never were babies." He implied with slight frustration.

Garnet: " We weren't. We emerged, these are different."

Pearl: "How do you know all this stuff?" Pearl said with surprised confusion.

Garnet: "Uuuh. That doesn't matter at the moment." She said with a small blush.

Steven: "So how do these geodes work? Do they hatch like normal eggs?" Steven asked.

Garnet: "In a sense, yes. But it may be a while."

Steven gasped before implying.

Steven: "We should take care of them!" The scream echoing through the room.

Everyone was silent for a moment before Garnet ended the silence saying:

Garnet "Yea ok, sure."

Pearl: "Wait, you can't be serious!!!" Pearl butted in.

Amethyst: "Aw, come on P. It'll be fun to at least try." Amethyst implied with enthusiasm.

Garnet: "It does take a lot of work, so we'll have to work together to do it."

Pearl was silent. Until she wasn't.

Pearl: "F*ck this sh*t I'm out!"

Take 2

Pearl was silent. Until she wasn't.

Pearl: "Are you sure about this?"

Steven: "Yea! Besides, what harm could two baby gems do?"

Garnet: "A lot. And the haven't hatched yet. We also need the right materials, preparations. Heck we don't even know if they're stall alive."

Amethyst: "Hope they are. Would be great additions to the team."

Pearl: "Well, when you put it like that. I guess we could try." Pearl said nervously.

Steven: "Yay!!!" Steven said with excitement.

And so, Steven and the Gems headed back to the temple, the two geodes in Garnet's hands. Because the other may have dropped them. Pearl not knowing how to handle them. Amethyst being, well Amethyst. And Steven also not knowing how to handle them.

760 words that is a record! I hope you enjoyed this so far, I will definitely be writing more considering this is all I've been able to think about for the past month. I finally got around to writing it because I wanted to do my other story first. (Go check that out too.) I didn't really want to be working on two stories at once because that would mean I have less time to work on the other story. Anyways hope you enjoy and I will continue to write this weather you like it or not.
