"So here's our assignment for the week, i'm going to pair you off, and i want you to pick a ballad to sing to your partner. Look them right in the eye, find the emotion you want to express, and make them feel it." Mr shue said.

"I pick Quinn." Finn said.

"No. Too easy. Your partners would be chosen by fate." Mr Schuester said. "I put all of your names in this hat. Whoever you choose is your partner."

"There is an uneven amount of people in the class." Santana said.

"I'll just have to put my name in there."

Puck walked up to the hat and picked something out. "Mercedes."

Artie: "Quinn."

Finn: "Kurt." He sighed and everyone laughed.

Tina: "Other Asian."

Santana walked up to the hat. She looked at the paper sadly. "Y/n."

I groaned. "Mr Schuester, can we just switch?" I asked and he shook his head. "Fate has spoken."

"Looks like i get you Mr shue." Rachel walked down the steps.

"The fates talked." Finn said and we all laughed. "Would you mind clarifying what kind of songs you want us to sing?"

"Why don't you let me and Mr Schuester and i demonstrate. Brad, endless love in b flat." Rachel smiled.

"I don't think that song is appropriate, Rachel."

"Come on, Mr Shue." Finn said.

The way Rachel looked at Mr schuester was creepy. I'm not gonna lie, i was pretty uncomfortable.

time skip.

"What are we gonna sing?" Santana asked.

"I don't know." I shrugged.

"Well, i'm a doing this project myself?" She asked.

"Okay, Santana. I don't feel anything about you, so i can't sing my feelings. Maybe we should just take the F."

"Ugh. You seriously know nothing." She rolled her eyes. "What if we just fake it? Sing some bland lovey dovey song and never speak of it again?" She asked.

I stood up. "Sure, what do you wanna sing?"

"You pick." She stood up too.

I sighed and sat at the piano. "Nothing's gonna stop us now. We're gonna acoustic this shit." I said and she nodded. I started playing the piano.

I sang to her. Trying not to look her in the eye.

Santana's pov:

I never really noticed how nice y/n looks playing piano. Maybe that's because i've never seen her play. She has this scrunched focusing face. Normally i'd think that's disgusting but she sorta makes it cute. We'd totally make good friends if i hadn't bullied her so much.

She started singing, looking at me in the eye this time. "And we can build this dream together, Standing strong forever

Why did she pick this song? A part of me wants to believe she wants to be my friend too, but we're just faking this. But...What if she wants to be friends with me too?

"Santana?" She said and i snapped out of it. "Yeah?"

"It's your part."

"Oh. Right." I cleared my throat. "I'm so glad I found you

She stopped playing piano and smiled. "That was great. I, uh, i have to go to Spanish, a paper is due tomorrow, but this was great."

"Y-You could stay. I mean, i'm fluent, i could help you with the whole spanish thing." I said and she sat back down. "Uh, sure?" 

"Maybe i could help you with spanish right now?" I suggested and she nodded. "Yeah, i have to name different type of fruit." Y/n took out a paper from her pile of books on the piano.

I sat next to her. "So what's the first one?"

"Uh, an apple." She looked over at me.

"Manzana." I smiled.

"How do you spell that?" She took out a pencil. "Here." I started writing it down.
