Ella and Emmett walked in the direction of the city, stumbling down the hill over rocks that kept rolling out from under their feet. Emmett kept falling on his butt and Ella was getting tired from heaving him up all the time.

When they made it into the city, the townspeople closest to them stopped what they were doing to watch them walk into the city. They were wearing.....

Togas?

And cloaks?

Who were these people? Because they surly weren't from Earth. Emmett turned to Ella and yanked on her sleeve.

Leaning close to her ear "I think we're in Asgard." he whispered.

Ella turned to him "If we are, then...." she cupped her hands around her mouth "....fuck! The last place I wanted to be!"

Some Asgardians clasped their hands over their children's ears and gave Ella stern glares. Ella looked at them and lunged forward, accidentally pushing their baskets of crops harshly into the wall.

"Bugger off, will you!" she said, annoyed.

Emmett pulled Ella away, as he looked at them "I'm sorry for her, people." he dragged her into a private alleyway "Will you shut your mouth? These people have done nothing wrong to you. The least you can do is be quiet."

Ella turned away from Emmett and threw her hands in frustration. When she brought them down, the walls around them came crashing down. The two turned slowly in a circle. Asgardians stood staring at them, wanting to know why these children have come to Asgard.

Suddenly, no questions needed to be asked. An Asgardian guard stood before them.

"Ella. Emmett. Follow me." he said.

Ella and Emmett looked at each other, unsure what was happening before they took a step forward after the guard.

Out of the corner's of their eyes, the twins could've sworn they saw the Asgardians bowing to them.

Ella and Emmett followed the guard into the palace. It was beautiful, but something was missing from it. Like how Ella'd always imagined castle to be like, it was missing laughter and joy. Instead, it was quiet and solemn, as if someone died inside the walls.

The guard turned to them "The palace used to be the most cheerful place, but it turned to a cold abyss of solemnness."

"How did that happen?" Emmett asked, rather intrigued.

They stopped in front of a pair of double doors. The guard looked at them "Your mother died in childbirth and left Loki with nothing but you. It broke his heart to send you away, but there was nothing he could do."

Ella snorted "What gives you the impression that we're his children?"

The guard smirked at them "You'll see."

He disappeared through the doors. Ella looked to the ceiling, cracking her knuckles. Emmett turned his gaze to the floor as he kicked it, nervously. The twins gazes each returned to the door when they heard the door open again.
