"You have failed twice to capture the children, Norgyn. I won't stand for it." a deep, hoarse voice said.

"No, sir. Please. It won't happen again. I promise." a weak and timid voice spluttered.

The dark voice yelled, blowing Norgyn backward "You tell me that you will not fail next time?! There is not a next time! They have gone home! I cannot touch them there!"

Norgyn got to his feet "You cannot touch them there, but I can."

The darkness rose "Why should I send you out after them?! You have failed me!"

"Because I know where Loki's backdoor is, Master." Norgyn said, his timid voice sounding more sinister this time.

The dark voice pondered this "Hmm. Very well. Get me the children, Norgyn! They shall be my ticket to Loki of Asgard!"

Emmett sat bolt upright in bed. His forehead was covered in sweat. He slipped out of bed and walked over to Ella's bedside.

Shaking her awake "Ella. We're in danger."

Ella groaned out loud "We're not in danger, Emmett. Go back to sleep."

She rolled over to her other side. Emmett pulled her out onto the floor "I'm not lying. Ella, someone is going to come into Asgard threw the backdoor."

Ella stood up "What are you talking about? There isn't a backdoor into Asgard."

Emmett stared at her "How would you know. We've only just got here."

Ella pulled on a bed robe and pulled her hair up into a loose ponytail. Then, she walked to the door and pushed it open. She looked at a passing guard out in the hall and Emmett heard her ask:

"Hi. What time is it?"

Emmett didn't catch what the guard answered her with, but Ella seemed to be very upset with the answer. When she shut the door, she turned to Emmett.

"It is 4:00 AM, Emmett. Can this wait?"

Emmett nodded his head, but on the inside he didn't want to wait. Ella must've seen a look in his eye, because sighed.

"Well, might as well explore while we're waiting." Ella concluded.

The twins snuck out into the corridors of the palace. Walking up and down small corridors and big corridors, they smiled a bit at all the art in the palace. Emmett stopped to look at a particular piece of art as Ella walked on through a door at the end of the hall.

Inside the room, Ella looked around at what appeared to be a sitting room type room. In the center was a simple set up of two sofas and two armchairs. Off to one side of the room, a daybed was piled high with things Asgardians obviously didn't want. Ella looked closer at the bed. She thought she saw that sheets were stained, so she started to remove the objects on top of it.

When she reached the actual bed itself, she fainted when she realized that was staining the sheets was dried blood.

Emmett turned around to see that Ella was nowhere in sight. He shut his eyes tightly, but the only thing he saw was darkness with colors twinkling in and out of focused. That was for a few minutes at least, before he wrenched his eyes open and flew to the door and the end of the hall. Flinging the doors open, Emmett rushed over to his sister and started lightly slapping her in an attempt to wake her.

"Ella. Ella. Come on, wake up." Emmett said in a whisper.

Ella stirred, but she didn't wake. Emmett heard footsteps walking down the hall with intense speed. Just then, their father followed by Thor, threw open the doors. Loki had a look of sadness on his face as he looked around the room.

Ella was carried back to their room until she woke up and Emmett walked along behind his father slowly. He had a question for him about the room they had just been in, but he didn't if he should ask it. They had reached a terrace when Loki said something.

"You should have your mother here. It isn't fair for---"

"That was her room, wasn't it?" Emmett interrupted.

Loki swallowed his saliva and stared out across the city. Emmett thought he said something wrong, because he didn't answer for a little while.

He finally said "Yes. It was the last place I ever saw her alive. She..... the screams, the crying..... I should've been with her."

Emmett realized "She died in childbirth, didn't she? Ella and I are the reason she's dead."

Loki turned quickly to him "No. No, Emmett. You're not the reason she died; don't ever say that."

He wrapped his arms around his son's shoulders and pulled him closer. Emmett hugged him back.

Emmett suddenly why Ella and him were awake in the first " Is there a back way in and out of Asgard?" he asked.

Loki looked at him "What do you mean?"

Emmett kicked the ground "I had a dream. A voice was talking to someone. Norgyn was his name, I think. Norgyn said he knew where a backdoor was."

Loki nodded as he straightened up "They're after me." Emmett shook his head. Loki looked down at him "Who would the darkness be after."

"It's trying to get you out of Asgard on your own."

Loki chuckled "It has sent Norgyn after you and Ella." he ran down the hall "Come on, Emmett."
