Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes

I did it! I'm outside! I can believe it! I felt the breeze on my legs as I started to sneak away from my house. I opened up my phone and checked the address for the party. It wasn't that far, it was a few blocks away from the hospital. I slowly walked to the house while I took a deep breath in and out. There were butterflies in my stomach. Maybe something could happen or maybe it won't but I won't keep wondering 'what if' anymore.

I saw the house and ran towards it. I came inside and heard the music pounding from the speakers. It was a bit much but it was my first high school party, after all. It had to be a bit overwhelming the first time. I made my way through the crowd and went to the kitchen where I saw George's group.

"Hey guys!" I yelled over the music.

"Hey Allie! This is a great party isn't it?" Said Kat.

"Well I just got here..."

"Trust me! It's super fun! And now it's more fun now that you're here!"

"Oh! Umm okay."

"We are placing bets on what will happen tonight with you and Zach."

"Oh! Um..." I said uncomfortably.

"Come on Kat! We're rolling the dice of how much money we should bet!" Said George.

"Coming!" Kat replied.

I sighed as I sat down. Where was Zach? Suddenly I heard someone screaming.

"Oh my god Zach! You invited her?" Said the voice.

"Yeah! She's my.....friend." Zach replied.

"Well I don't like her!"

"Too bad, Hailey! You can't control who I'm friends with!"

"Please Zach!" Hailey pleaded.

"Who knows if she'll even show up anyways, relax! Even if she does though, I'll be glad."

"Why?"

"Because she is my friend!"

"Come on Zach! I love you!"

Zach rolled his eyes and hugged her.

"It'll be okay, Hailey."

I noticed he never said he loved her too. This much be what George and Kat were talking about the other day. I turned away to go back to George and Kat but before I could, Zach called my name.

"Allie!" He yelled.

I turned around and saw him waving. Hailey stormed off.

"Hey Zach!" I said, coming closer to him.

"How much of that did you hear?"

"Umm.. I didn't hear anything. The music is very loud."

"Oh! Good! That was just a private conversation with me and Hailey."

"Oh ok!"

"Yep..."

"So, some people are playing truth or dare. Wanna play?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure!"

We both went to the living room were some people were playing.

"Hey guys, can we join?" I asked.

"Sure!" Said a girl with long hair.

"Why not!" Said a boy with green eyes.

We played a bit and I kept feeling like someone was staring at me. From the corner of my eye I saw Zach was staring at me but I turned around and I also saw Hailey staring angrily at me too. I gulped as I tried to ignore her and focus on the game.

"Zach! Truth or dare?" Asked the girl with long hair.

"Umm...dare!"

"Yess! I dare you to kiss anybody who is playing anywhere you want."

"Oh! Umm..." he blushed. He looked at me.

"Can I..?" He asked me.

"Umm.. won't Hailey be mad?"

"Just quickly on the cheek..."

"Umm...okay."

He gave me a quick peck on the cheek. We both blushed but I felt something in that awkward kiss, the smallest spark but nonetheless a spark. I feel like anytime anything happens with us, sparks fly. I felt his lips lingering as he pulled away. I looked around and saw Hailey storm away again, Kat and George giggling and rolling the dice and Daisy and Elle rolling their eyes at the kiss. I ignored everyone and we kept on playing a bit but it was awkward.

After a while, I realize it's 11:45! I was going to be late! It takes me about 30 minutes to get back! I had to leave now and pray running will get me there in time!

"Zach?" I asked, rushed.

"Yeah?"

"I've got to go."

"Why?"

"My sister said she would cover for me until 12 and it's almost 12!"

"You snuck out?"

"Yeah!"

"Oh! Well, I can take you on my motorcycle if you'd like..."

"What?" I asked, shocked.

"It's perfectly safe and you'll get home in time!"

"I...."

"It's your choice..."

"Ugh fine! But what about Hailey?"

"Her brother's driving her home."

"Okay! Let's go!"

We said bye to everyone and Kat winked at me and gestured to him.

"Is something about to happen?" She asked.

"No! I just have to get home before midnight!"

"Okayyyyy if you say so..."

We ran out and he gave me a helmet. I hesitated for a second before I grabbed it. This was really happening! I put it on and I got on. As the engine started, I squeezed him a bit.

"You'll be fine." He whispered. He looked back at me, smiled and we started to go.

The wind blew through my hair, I felt like my hair was a mess but I didn't care. We were flying! I felt free! He kept looking back at me to make sure I was alright, and I was! This wasn't as bad as I thought! As we approached the house and the car slowed down, my hair fell fell in place like dominos.

He helped me off and I handed him the helmet. He looked into my eyes and I looked into his. He took a step closer and we were practically touching. Oh my god, this is it! The moment I've been waiting for! Suddenly his phone started ringing. Ugh! The moment's ruined! I'll never kiss him!

"It's Hailey..." he said, checking his phone.

"Oh..." I replied. Of course it's Hailey! She always ruins all our moments! Well, to be fair, Zach's her boyfriend, but still!

"I gotta go."

"Oh...okay. Thanks for the ride!"

"No problem! Bye,"

"...bye..." I said sadly as I walked to the back of the villa to jump into my room.

I climbed inside of the window and saw the pitch darkness. Augustine must be sleeping. I started creeping to my bed when the lights came on. On my bed, was my mom, staring at me.
