Breakable Heaven

Me and Zach are working together today. Right now, we are cleaning up the cafeteria, which sucks but we try to make it fun.

Zach jumps up on the table and starts playing air guitar while singing. I burst out laughing. He really is perfect. He suddenly slips off the table. I start laughing even harder.

"Ahh!" He yells as he falls. I laugh at him as I pick him up.

"Why is it that every time I try to be funny it ends up with me falling?" He asks grinning.

"I don't know, just don't try to be funny when your on top of a tall building." I answer.

He laughs. As the laugh starts to go away, he stares at me looking lustful. I blush. I wish he'd stop. What doesn't kill me makes me want him more!

He blinks as he looks away and starts to clean again.

A few hours later, before we leave the hospital, Este tells us to come.

"Hello interns! So, I have an announcement to make! In one week, I will be choosing 5 of the hardest workers to get a letter of recommendation to a university so you can become doctors and you will also get to help some doctors prep for a surgery!" She said excitedly. I have never seen her this excited!  "So, you all have to work extra hard this week! Oh! Before I forget, can I see Allison for a few minutes before you leave?" She asks. I nod my head. Was I in trouble? I start worrying. "Everyone else, you can leave!"

Zach nudges me on the shoulder.

"What did you do?" He asks.

"I don't know!"

"Maybe it's something good! Like, maybe you'll get an award!"

"I doubt it."

"Okay, well good luck! Text me later."

"Okay."

I head to Este's office and take a seat.

"Hello Allison." She says.

"Hi..."

"So, do you know what this meeting is about?" She asks.

"Am i in trouble?" I ask timidly.

"What? Of course not!" She laughs.

"Then, what is it?"

"I just wanted to let you know that you left your cardigan here yesterday. I thought you wanted it back."

"Oh!" I say with a sigh of relief.

"Yeah! Don't worry about anything, your doing great!" She says smiling. "Anyways, you can leave now. Bye!" She says. I get up, grab my cardigan and leave.

"Thank you!" I say as I run out of the hospital. Suddenly, I hear Zach and Hailey. I turn around and see them on the side of the hospital.

"I can't believe you Hailey!" Zach yells.

"I had to!"

"You didn't have to!"

"Well, you were also with Allie!"

"I never did anything with Allie!"

"Whatever!"

"I can't believe you cheated on me!"

"I didn't!"

This seems like a private conversation. I should go...

"You make no sense! I just saw you kissing that guy!"

"Ugh fine I did! But please, Zach!"

"You said yes!"

I stayed. I shouldn't have but I did.

"I know! I'm sorry! What was I supposed to do?"

"You should've said no, you should've gone home, you should've thought twice before you let it all go! You should've known the word you did with him would get back to me!" He yells.

"But Zach-"

"I should've been there, at the back of your mind! I shouldn't be asking myself why! You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet! You should've said no, and you might still have me!"

Hailey was quiet. I went running, hoping he didn't see me. He could never know.

A few hours later I texted him.

"Hey. How r u?" I asked.

"Not so good. I broke up with Hailey..."

"WHAT"

I had to pretend I didn't know.

"She cheated on me."

"Are you okay?"

"Actually, I am. I feel lighter. She was just like this weight I was carrying. I finally feel free!"

"Rlly? That's great!"

"Yeah! Thanks Allie!"

"Your welcome."

"I've got to go, bye!"

"Bye!"

Wow! Maybe I had a chance with him after all, I mean, he and Hailey are officially over and it seems he's ready to move on. Maybe it could work, after all, he and Hailey became breakable heaven.
