"Um," I hesitated, feeling a knot form in my stomach as I searched for the right words.
"Come on, Y/N, I know all your secrets. I won't snitch, bro," Koushi reassured me with a gentle smile.
"Um, there's this guy. He's my group project partner and stuff, and then we started video calling every day, and then he met this new student," I explained, my words tumbling out in a rush as I struggled to descibe my feelings.
"He's been ignoring me, and when he asked why I was ignoring him, I told him it was the other way around," I continued, frustration creeping into my voice as I recounted the recent exchange.
As I spoke, I could feel the weight of uncertainty on my chest, unsure how to deal with the complex feelings churning inside of me. It felt like being at a crossroads, divided between wanting to be honest about my sentiments and being afraid of what would happen if I did.
"Whatever, it's not something for my current self to worry about." Grabbing Koushi's hand, I dragged him to the dance floor, ready to let loose and enjoy the rest of prom. Little did I know, the guy who had been ignoring me was watching from afar, his gaze fixed on me and Suga dancing together.
"Tch, who's that guy with her," a pissed off Sakusa muttered, his jealousy evident in his tone.
- Sugawara's POV
"Oi, Y/N, where are you off to?" I called out, my voice carrying across the room.
"Chill, Koushi, I won't do anything stupid... well, maybe I will," she replied with a hint of laughter, turning back towards the stage.
As she stepped onto the platform, she motioned for everyone's attention. "Hey, remember me? Let's talk about unrequited love for a sec," she began, her tone reflective.
"Alright, so imagine unrequited love is like being stuck in quicksand. The more you struggle and try to force your way out, the deeper you sink. You can't make someone love you if they don't feel the same way, no matter how hard you try."
"If someone doesn't reciprocate your feelings and only brings you pain, it's time to let go and find someone who values you. Don't waste your time chasing after someone who doesn't appreciate what you have to offer."
As she stepped away from the mic, a voice from the crowd chimed in, "Damn, Y/N, who hurt you?" She chuckled softly before returning to the stage.
"No one, really. Just sharing some wisdom. Alright, enough of that. Let's get back to the dance floor!" she declared, her smile belying the depth of her emotions.
- Sakusa's POV
After hearing Y/N's speech on unrequited love, I exchanged a glance with Emiko, feeling a sense of unease settle in the pit of my stomach.
"That was deep," Emiko remarked, breaking the silence. "Y/N really knows how to speak from the heart."
I nodded in agreement, though internally, I couldn't shake the nagging question in my mind. Why would
Y/N choose to talk about something so personal in front of everyone?"It's true though, about letting go of someone who doesn't appreciate you," Emiko continued, her voice thoughtful. "It's better to move on and find someone who values you."
I found myself nodding mechanically, but inside, doubts gnawed at me. Did Y/N have someone specific in mind when she said that? Was she trying to send a message to someone in particular?
As we continued to reflect on Y/N's message, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease lingering beneath the surface. Her words had left me with more questions than answers, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her speech than met the eye.
